NBC Daytime of today is no fun at all without daytime game shows and reruns of family friendly sitcoms like back then. 😢

I agree with that. I'd even take the soap operas over what they have now.

That’s because television as a whole has changed for the better the last decade or so, especially with all those streaming services.

KNBC anchor Kelly Lange had once been a contestant on the original CBS "What's My Line?" in the 60s when she'd been working as a traffic reporter.

I lived in 1988, and I had only seen a very small percentage of people (1 or 2% ?) wearing glasses that were that large).

This was why the champion on Super Password has been found to be ineligible, and would not receive his cash or prizes he won, as he was stripped of his near $60,000 in winnings, right after someone recognized him on TV and had it reported to the authorities. And this was how Patrick Quinn (a.k.a. Kerry Ketchum) was caught, and the ineligible champion will not receive his prize money.

@@ken_danerdiest1 CNN had two reports, as it made the national news, but these episodes of Patrick Quinn (a.k.a. Kerry Ketchum) who was declared ineligible on "Super Password" in 1988, was replayed sporadically on Game Show Network and BUZZR which now exclusively airs the game show in reruns.

Good he was caught - what annoys me is that Super Password never re-offered the $55,000 in the bonus round he would've won to somebody else in a future episode after finding out he was a con-man, which they should've done - because the jackpot never reached that level again the remainder of the run.
@digiblader12 жыл бұрын
@@tuxie1989 That was in 1986. I was meaning this $55,000..
@DrLove03782 жыл бұрын
The jackpot did reach $55,000 on ONE other occasion-and the other contestant who won it was eligible to actually receive it. Since they surely went through many more tapings and bonus rounds before that episode actually aired (remember, it was a home viewer who informed the production company that he was a fugitive under an assumed name), I don’t know how they would have remedied the situation regarding the jackpot amount. BUT, any other contestant who lost to him would’ve had a case for being brought back to compete again-since Kerry Ketchum lied about his identity to get on the show, this made him an ineligible contestant.
