Super Producer Jeff Bhasker on Making Hits for Kanye, Bruno Mars, Jay Z, Rihanna (Full Interview)

Producer, songwriter, keyboardist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bhasker came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, where he detailed meeting and working with Kanye West on several albums, including 808s & Heartbreaks, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, The Throne, and Donda. Jeff detailed what it's been like working with Kanye over the years, and he also played various melodies that he’s worked on, including “Power.” From there, Jeff detailed working on Jay-Z and Kanye’s collaborative album “Watch the Throne,” and seeing the dynamic between the two artists in the studio. I was in Malibu this morning and I was charging my tesla. Then Jeff Bhasker came to charge right along side me. I immediately recognize him from this interview and his license plate had his last name. Being a Kanye fan I freaked out al little. I said hello to him and how he's doing great out there. wanted to stay in chat but he was in a rush and so was i. great encounter with a legend in the music game. and he was a driving a P100D. he has taste in teslas haha

I think the interview was pretty good: I love hearing from Jeff and some of his insights working on music were the best parts. I just wish the Interviewer explored more of the things Jeff brought up while answering the initial questions asked, and maybe asked more questions that could be useful for aspiring producers/musicians/creatives EDIT: Also be mindful of all of your adlibs (the yeahs, rights, and mmhmms), when the person you're talking to is in the middle of answering your questions; it kinda distracts from their answers

I see people are feeling away about the person doing the interview. But I think ya'll should understand this is an interview not a documentary. Her saying yes or definitely is a part of keeping the discussion flowing and letting the interviewee know she's engaged. Jeff is not meant to be talking to himself. Interviewing a person and being silent would make it weird and could inhibit the information that the interviewee would share. Let's be respectful and use some more critical thinking skills lol

I think the interviewer was great, she kept the vibe relaxed and encouraged his stories, Vlad might have pushed too hard on certain question like the Kanye bipolar stuff. This one felt very organic and less interrogationy. The interview turned out great so I’m not sure what people are complaining about

Being a good interviewer is based in curiosity in the subject (before & during), encouraging stories, and hopefully some shared experience/understanding. The interviewer felt like a student just sitting there and was lucky that Bhasker is such a dynamic subject & storyteller. Felt more like a speaking engagement with a magnetic, easygoing speaker vs. hearing a supposed interviewer who got a bullet list of generic questions prior and then mostly says "right" "totally" "oh wow" "definitely" over & over. I was embarrassed listening to the little she contributed. This could have easily been a fascinating series in the right hands as Bhasker is such a compelling subject.
