Bo Nickal, a three-time Division I national wrestling champion at Penn State and one of the hottest prospects in MMA, will face Cody Brundage in the main card opener of UFC 300 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Nickal is 2-0 in the UFC and only 5-0 in MMA, so getting a spot on the main card of such a prestigious show has rankled plenty of feathers. Nickal, though, chooses to look at his position as the UFC's investment in him.
Hall of Famer Michael. Bisping said Nickal could follow in the steps of Khabib Nuramagomedov, who is widely regarded as one of the two or three greatest fighters in MMA history. And so by putting him on the main card early, it's going to give him exposure that might pay off down the road.
Nickal discussed his love for MMA and what he hopes to get out of the sport in this interview.
