So I learned in this episode, if an elevator is stuck, first shoot the door to see if it helps. Also I learned that a few little wings and a front spoiler will speed up a vehicle and allow KIT to drive on inner city urban environment roads around 300mph. Even though I thought he could already do that without “super pursuit mode.” And lasers applied to the face can make anyone look exactly like anyone they want.
@danieltx7066 Жыл бұрын
i'm pretty sure it was the rockets in the back that brought it to those high speeds, while the wings and spoilers worked to keep it on the ground. that's how cars work, don'tcha know. my training is not in lasers, so i'll have to take your word on the face thing.

I loved super pursuit mode as a kid. Only when I was a little older it dawned on me that the car should become a lot _less_ aerodynamic when going into super pursuit mode with all those parts sticking out :)
@The2ndQuest Жыл бұрын
I think the idea is, at least partially, to evoke an F1 racer or something to that effect- in other words, the parts are less about aerodynamics for speed (although that's obviously part of the idea too) and more about preventing the car from flipping over by directing the air to push down on the car (instead of creating lift like with an airplane). But, even then, it's not exactly real science- just a silly, fun cool factor :).

Yes, he did. Devon and one other gentleman knew the key components and could reproduce it. It was only absent in this episode because of Devon being held hostage and unable to supply the needed information.

Too bad they've wasted time, added a lot of weight, and weakened overall vehicle structure by adding convertible mode. Even my grandmother remarked 'this is just stupid' when season 4 came out.

I always loved this show but watching it now shows how cheesy it could be; Michael is desperate to get KITT in order to rescue Devon at the beginning of the clip but then just before SPM is as casual as if it is a Sunday drive. 80's TV!

Knight Rider aired from 1982-86 so I would have been 1-5 years old, I definitely remember watching it before the last season and the appearance of SPM. Where I lived, we kept getting reruns until I was 9 so must have been 1990.

I was about 13 years old, and loved it. I can appreciate it more now (despite the flaws and the bulky look) as a good gimmick. I actually got a touch of the goosebumps just now when the ETA reduced by almost half. And the look of speed is pretty decent (yes, i know it isn't accurate). The only bit that i continue to dislike is how the EBS is used. It's never used in an Emergency. It's always discussed first.
