@@genesisosuna Honestly, during GOATS I've climbed from plat to high diamond/low masters, and it did not matter how good the players were throught the ranks, the comp just worked excessively well against anything. A bunch of hardstuck plats in a lobby, they pick those 6 heroes, they are gonna steamroll a team of the same SR (or sometimes even higher) that isnt mirroing. You definitely did not need to be GM to want to punch a hole through the monitor whenever you played rank and encountered that abomination of a comp. And as OWL progressed and GOATS became standart you would see more and more of it in games.

And yeah, ranked comps end up bleeding into unranked anyway. Also, as a ranked player it's annoying having to adapt to a boring meta. As a casual, you just lose without really understanding why. @@Buddha507 it was a meta back in 2018 ish, before role queue. Basically it was pick 3 tanks, 3 supports, no dps. If you had two teams running this… absolutely no one died and fights took literally like 10-15 minted of just nothing, then everyone uses their ultimate and whoever pressed Q more won. If just one team ran it, it was hard as hell to overcome without a observable skill difference. That’s it in a nut shell. The more or less. Key note is really that nothing died. For specifics (ie; hero’s and general game state) look up a video, they’ll do a much better job than my rough recollection lol

I still feel that this game should have taken the same route as csgo just update the game gradually whether its graphics or sound whatever and keep it as overwatch 5v5 could’ve been tested as a game mode and the developers would have gotten more feedback from plus the game wouldn’t have become stale as it was. I know some of you will think that hindsight is talking but developers having been using this method for a long time. Its just stupid the the developers doubled down on it being a sequel and that the game couldn’t be just updated frustrating honestly.

What happend is that during development activison-blizzard pretty much forced the OW team into packaging OW2 (pve game) and this OW 1 huge patch. I won my first 6 games as dps in a row and lost 5 so I had a low rank, if the game would instead just be to play 7 games I would've deff gotten a higher rank than silver 5, so yeah it's annoying to win 6 and getting to a plat lvl but you don't get ur rank since u need to win the 7th one basically in a row to get a good rank.

If you literally went 6 wins 5 losses, then obviously you're going to get a low rank, cus you just lost 5 games to people who are likely silver players. If you are losing 5 games to silver/bronze players the game is going to assume you are a silver/bronze player. It's not that crazy.

That being said.. I do think the current ranked system is confusing and stupid. I think most people, casual and try-hards alike, would prefer the SR system where you can see what your rank is each game, and have an idea of how far you need to go for the next rank. I was a mid-plat support before and then won all 7 games (I did quite well in all of mine (stat wise) in my opinion), I would honestly say I played at the same level other than perhaps my aim being a tad rusty and yet I got silver 4. This is the first time I’ve been silver lol. In ow1 I got placed mid gold and never dropped lower than gold. Definitely think that the ranking system is dumping a lot of players in low ranks or that the influx of new players is dragging the team stats down and that is somehow affecting individual placements

Idk why Supertf considers Hog useless. From my experience, is RoastHog best tank in the game. He have best stun _(beside of Rein ult)_ , very ez to land _(you no need aim a hero to grab him, its like pre-nerf Moira drain hitbox, shot air nearby hero and you hook him)_ , hook always leads to kill 200hp unit and with 700hp and huge self-heal, is unkillable without Ana grenade. His stun from hook needs to be remove.

My favorite character is the reaper guy. he is very powerfull. special move, honestly is one of the best in the game and so he comes equipped with these two revolvers and only takes about 3 or 4 shots to actually execute a kill so it comes really in handy specially when you come from the side.

That "without ana grenade" is extremely important. Even in OW1 a competent ana could shut down a hog of the same caliber constantly. Now when Hog would be the only tank on the field, he'd shut down very quickly, even if he does manage to hook. Think about the other tank on the field if your playing hog. If the enemy has a sigma, they can E and rock you out of your hook but admittedly thats difficult or he can go right up to your face and press shift to eat your shot so only the hook itself does damage. If they have a dva all they have to do is defense matrix your shot. If they have orissa then can press E to eat your shot or right click to javelin you out of your hook. If they have Zarya she can bubble whoever gets hook which'll make her stronger AND save her teammate. Also hogs ult is much better than before but its still one of the weaker tank ults honestly. Super considers hog useless because at high levels, hog wont get nearly as much value from his abilities as the other tanks will unfortunately.

i've played about 130 hours of ow1 and i'm really not being a fan of ow2, most of what made ow1 unique is now gone, 6v6 was interesting and 5v5 just feel like every other competive game ever,i liked shields, it was different, now its just shoot them, and now for my hottest take, i actually liked the cc, it made you think more about how to engage a character with cc, especially characters that had only one cc that you could dodge, but my main problem was that said cc was almost impossible to dodge, and if they made said cc easier to dodge it would solve the problem, same with league, they are phasing out point and click cc and its been healthy, in ow they could have made it so cc was telegraphed and dodgable and it would be fine IMO. like, why mcree's bang stuned? didnt we solve that like 20 years ago when we made flashbangs make teh screen go white?
