For context: This is a clip from a separate documentary called "Holy Chicken" where the guy from Super Size Me creates his own fast food restaurant, hence his over analyzing of the wording of the pamphlets and wrappers, the architecture, aesthetics etc. He obviously knows it'll be shitty food, he's just there to see how they've changed since he made the original movie. If he comes off as pretentious it's mostly because they're trying to compare it to the image McDonald's is advertising themselves as. In this part they're making the point that the actual fast food they serve hasn't changed but marketing has completely changed. Like saying that their burgers are made from "100% natural beef" is a new trend to make it seem more appealing or healthier.

Ikr. Like really how many people did he actually prevent going to McDonald’s forever from that documentary, really. Not a whole lot, I imagine. If anything he just helped their new marketing scheme of making their stuff look healthier/“simpler”, and convincing people think it’s ok to give your kids a happy meal several times a week so long as you ask for the apple slices and milk instead of fries and soda....or eat there yourself since they no longer offer the xl sizes. (Even though their medium/large sizes are still massive).

Hayley Meyer ppl born in the 2000s won’t remember, but McDonalds was a huge deal back then, they simbolized the American way of life for decades, and besides being the biggest fast food franchise, they came up with the super sized meals that spurred the whole debate about healthy food.

Fam have you seen high quality before? I've payed less than I've payed in McDonald's and I've gotten way higher quality food. McDonald's is the very form of shit.

A lot of North Americans have been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome within the last 2 decades because of having a majorily fast-food diet. His documentary was empowering and educational. Lots of these franchises have been forced to change because consumers are smarter now. I haven't had a McDonald's sandwich since watching Supersize Me.

amazed at the amount of people that dont realize this is a clip taken from his documentary “Super Size me 2” where he opens a chicken burger restaurant to see how easy it is to manipulate people into thinking the unhealthy food he is selling is healthy. the reason him and the two guys (who are professional marteing analysts) are making fun of the packaging is because they are trying to see what attracts customers. also whats with all these people trying to defend McDonalds for being trash?
