For those wanting it even slower, remember you can use the custom playback speeds in the KZbin settings. I often forget to use that feature but it can compound the slow-mo when needed. Great vid. Thanks for posting

I’ve been bowling 20 years, I’ve never, seen any one hander, two hander, anyone, throw a ball like that. From that huge backswing, 95 degree wrist, there’s nobody on the planet that cranks more revs than this dude. That’s an 800 rpm ball, thrown out of a machine. The ball never hits the pins, the revs create a gravitational pull that sucks those pins into a small universe that is created by this bowling God.

Watching this video is like a flash back to the short oil walls of the 90's. Your footwork is classic Cranker, plant that heel, late timing and crush it at the bottom of the swing. That style ruled the short oil madness. I dabbled in that kind of plant and turn release in the early 90s, but my wrist checked out. I'm sure my knees would disapprove today...lol.. Nice seeing how you are able to keep the timing on point and execute the shots pretty consistently. You game looks like a modernized version of the classic Cranker, the likes of Mark Roth. Thanks for the video.

wow seeing this in slow mo it’s amazing! so to hook the ball you shoot at the 10 pin but pull the ball up in a sliding motion with the wrist and finger up to the other side? and the ball travels to the 10 pin but rotates towards the pocket ? i’m new to bowling but i thought to hook the ball the hand had to make a handshake movement not just sliding it up…

I'm starting my first league here and just need some tips about thumb position. I always squeeze my thumb inside when I try to snap my wrist while releasing the ball. Because of that my thumb knuckle is hurt everytime. Should I enlarge the thumb hole so that I can bend my thumb inside more comfortably or try to keep my thumb straight at all times? Thanks in advance
@hihbowling2 жыл бұрын
Always keep the thumb straight. Squeezing doesnt allow for a clean release. You need a new grip.

You almost have a little skip step in there like a 2 hander. Getting tons of speed off that backswing and that skip step. Tons of lift on that ball too. You have a really good approach. I have to slide into my release though. When the lanes are tacky and I have to step it kills my knee and hip.

I finally got the shape of my ball looking very close to yours. Like you said, elbow/wrist/finger. Only problem is that I’m throwing it at 11mph. Soooooo it’s going almost gutter to gutter 😔 I need to get my speed way up but idk how.
@grillmaster952 жыл бұрын
You're probably putting too much muscle into the ball and don't have a free armswing. It's not easy to hit the ball like this and maintain a free swing. It also takes time to get used to the timing of this motion so you're able to do it quicker and easier, which gets you that ball speed
@hihbowling2 жыл бұрын
Use gravity in your favor. Practice, time and a loose swing.

I am just getting into bowling and I am working to improve. I just took a bowling lesson about a month ago. We went through my approach. One thing the coach suggested was working on sliding instead of stepping. I just noticed that you aren't sliding before you release the ball. Do you think it is better to slide or step before you release the ball?
@hihbowling3 жыл бұрын
For my game I hate sliding. I wouldn't recommend it off rip. Learn to slide and if you dont like it try planting. Go slow so you dont hurt yourself.

There is no rule that says you can't wear sneakers. Just that they should be non marking and used only for bowling to avoid messing up the approach. I use bowling shoes but I'm a planter also. If I can't learn to slide, I'm just going to use sneakers.
