Great review, finally an in depth look at the CU Mini, the lack of hill climbing was bad, and maybe putting pedals on it would boost power at such low speeds, but yes just get an ebike (Sakura)

Thank you, glad you liked it! Indeed, very disappointing - pedals would have been a great addition to something like this, but the understanding from the manufacturer is that there are issues with getting that approved by the government.

There's definitely a niche for these bikes, depending on local laws. In Oklahoma, these vehicles are completely legal to drive on the road without any license or insurance, as long as they're 1000w or less and top out at around 25mph. Whereas even an E-bike or motorized bike requires a full driver's license, for some unfathomable reason. I'm definitely considering something like this for my girlfriend, who doesn't have a license. A 1000w bike, that is, not 600w.
