Alexi was only like 17 when he wrote this album also. He was so freaking talented. He was classically trained on violin at a young age, and then switched to guitar k believe at 8 years old. Bodom will Forever be my favorite band of all time.

He's the reason I buy a flying V guitar and customize the vinyl just like his guitar, I try writing a riff and playing while singing, and also listen to classical music to find inspiration, truly a gifted songwriter and guitarist, his influence really spread wild afar across the world, Rest in Power Alexi, your music, your memory still lives on even years of your passing

I was lucky enough to meet Akexi in 2009, he was such a friendly happy guy. One hell of a guitar player. Sadly missed.

I've only ever seen and read interviews, but he had that Dimebag joy and lust for life/music/excess. You couldn't help but like the person and feel radiated by them in their presence. Must have been so cool to have met him.

One me favourite songs ever! Have heard it it live several times in front row (first time I didn't have ear plugs, was standing next to their front monitor speakers and me ears did ring like 6 months...) Wouldn't not change anything as I with me best mate, me closest friend, it was one of those things which did semented our bond as friends...

@@melvinthinks Also I was working this Finnish table top gaming and etc convention and I dcided to help in cleaining and lot of old lost and found were thrown away then and we could take anything thrown away... So there was still working cd player, I did take it and in it was Children of Bodom CD disc, witch I had before only had as pirated version...

COB is the greatest band. I have collected a lot of information about this band and it surprises me more and more every time. The song "Deadnight Warrior" is the only song with a video on the album. This song really lifts the mood, in my opinion, because of its folk music elements. Thx for this video!

0.o you never heard COB!?!?!?! Wow Alexi Rip was and is one of my favorite guitarists and front man of all time. I always told people he is the guitar prodigy. You have to do Are You Dead Yet? Or Living Dead Beat (my favorite song) from Knockout Stockholm Live. Also Clash of the Booze brothers is something they do on their headliners were Alexi vs Janne Warman the keyboardist do a guitar vs keyboard solo. Holy crap I never recommend them because I was thinking there is NO way he never heard them 😂

@@melvinthinks first time I saw them was the Unholy Alliance Tour with Thine Eyes Bleed, COB, Mastodon, Lamb of God and Slayer. During COB set Janne the keyboardist was chugging a full beer while doing his keyboard solo. I wish I could remember which song, possibly Needed 24/7. Downfall off their 2nd album Hatebreeder was the first song I learned all the way through on bass. I still paint my nails black still to this day because Alexi did. I love COB so much. RIP Alexi

That line-up is sick! Mastodon are in my top-5 bands of all time. I remember Bloodstock 2016 had Mastodon, Gojira, Slayer and Anthrax on the bill. But that was over the course of 3 days! I know some of the later COB albums and songs have had more commercial success than "Deadnight Warrior", but after reading that interview I really wanted to start at the beginning. Have listened to the 1st album quite a few times since I made this video, and I'll soon be ready to move on to album #2.

@@melvinthinks that still stands as one of the best shows I've ever attended. All them had sick set lists too, and per normal lamb of god killed everyone 😂 next is Hatebreeder which is super solid. Downfall is the last track and generally how they end their sets. With Lake Bodom you hear Janne talents but his talents really shine through on Hatebreeder. Yeah COB shaped me as a teenager I have all the albums their DVDs flags, a few shirts, seen them live a few times. Though they are also blitzed off their ass it's hard to find a tighter better sounding love band. I cried for days when Alexi passed as his art was so inspirational to me. If I was a guitar player Alexi would've been my main influence but as a bassist I love Henkka as well. I have never played in a band. Mostly lack of opportunity and life in the way. Still a passion of mine tho. Music is king.
