When I was a freshman in College in 2015 my friend showed me a KZbinr I’d never heard of at the time JonTron and after watching like 3 of them there was the one with Jirard and once I found out that the completionist was a thing he was my dude. THEN found beard bro’s and have been here ever since. Also, considering I watch the channel everyday it’s crazy how impossible it is for youtube to actually show me ya’ll’s videos on my recommended page

I started watching SBB in 2015 after loving Jirard's guest appearance on the Game Grumps' Sonic 3 playthrough. When I saw the Completionist live show in 2019 I proudly wore my "Beard Bros for Life" shirt. That's still my favorite piece of SBB merch I own because of how true that phrase still rings. You guys have brought me so much joy over the years. While I was unemployed in 2018 I tuned in to nearly every Facebook livestream session, I was a month 1 Gamewisper, the show has literally permanently altered my speech patterns, I still reference stuff like "I lobe Argo" and "gotta gut that meat" in my actual IRL day-to-day. Just wanted to show my gratitude for all that you do.

The Bros came up on my recommended feed about 5 years ago, it was a video for either Mario Maker or Mario Maker 2. I was immediately hooked because I recognized Jirard & Alex from Completionist/NormalBoots and Brett from the vid where he coached Jirard through the DS3 Dancer fight.

I started watching Super Beard Bros. with the Super Mario Kaizo series. I got to The Completionist from there. I watched the Kaizo series a bunch of times, then Saw Game, Super Mario 64 (Boba Fett, Boba Drink) and I was really excited when you played Mario Maker. Your series defined that game to me (I still watch CarlSagan42 from those days). After that I became a huge fan up until ALTTP/Super Metroid randomizer, when I moved with my gf and I struggled to find time to watch any YouYube. Recently I resuscribed with the Pokémon HG SS series and I've been watching some of your new gameplays dince!

Being able to retry the UFO stages is such a quality-of-life upgrade in this version of the game. It's kind of hard to tell without playing it, but they are super janky and weird and in the older versions you only got one try before moving on to the next level. It's incredible what a simple "retry" button can do. To answer your question, I found you guys because I liked The Completionist and you were playing Mother 3 at the time. How could I miss out on that? I've stuck around ever since. Honestly there don't seem to be a lot of Let's Play channels out there that play the kinds of games I actually want to see, but you're one of them. That's largely what inspired me to start a channel of my own.

Fact failed to be mentioned last episode about the time mechanic is the influence of the past and future a good future is has no enemies and nearly every hazard is removed (good in wacky workbench) while bad future tends to be overrun by enemies and is way more dangerous with hazards (again terrible in wacky workbench) I think this also translates into the boss “stages” were if you get the good future for the zone the lead up to the boss will be generally safe like the pinball boss I don’t think has the spikes at the bottom in a good future you can correct me if I’m wrong but I think I’m right

Nostalgic gaming let’s plays are still my favorite on KZbin but I prefer stuff that includes a dynamic commentary (like this one) of more than one person and at least some edit work (again, like this one). SBB is def one of my favorites and I always suggest it to others that want similar content to Game Grumps, Oneyplays, The Runaway Guys, etc.

I think I first encountered TheCompletionist (which I think was before the big fallout somewhere around episode 100 but I'm not sure) and soon after checked on SBB out of curiosity. Since then I stuck around for many an lp. For as how my tastes changed, not much actually. I still prefer watching yt over anything else and sometimes watch some twitch streamer a bit after NG+ started and I checked it out over there (I think that was around NES Legend of Zelda). Frontiers being the way it is I attribute to it being somewhat of a prototype for how Sonic could work as an open world but I'd say it's definitively there yet to impress.

If it helps, I started watching the beard bros about 2 years ago. I found you through the completionist channel. The Completionist seems to get recommended more often. I'm not sure how I transitioned into the podcasts though, because I had been watching The Completionist for a long time and never considered watching the Let's Plays. It might have also had to do with SGS? I've been subbed to Jesse for a long time, and SGS was really entertaining, so I thought fuck it why not, let's see everything. Now I watch your Let's Plays, Chilluminati, SGS, basically anywhere where Jirard, Alex, or Brett put out Let's Play content or Podcasts in general. I mean, honestly, if you guys are looking for a content strategy. Try just being the channel you hate as one channel to introduce people into the pipeline. Do all the Top 10s, do all the reviews of the really mainstream games, and then funnel those viewers into your other content. This way you can have a high visibility channel, and for all the channels the algorithm has killed, you don't have to worry about visibility.

I don't know if this is at all anecdotally useful but; The dreaded algorithm did indeed recommend you guys. Only been here since the Dark Souls 3 madness run, though I suppose I was aware you all existed prior. I assume it's because the youtube gods know I like Fromsoft stuff that they put you in my recommendations. I don't watch The Completionist or other lets play stuff, mostly because there aren't any other good let's players that I'm aware of, so the elaborate Venn diagram that is the algorithm didn't point me this way because of that. *shrug* Make use of that tiny data point as you can.

I stoped watching Beard Bros, because some of yous series I don't want to watch and instead watched more fighting game and Splatoon videos. But KZbin recommend from time to time videos from you guys. I came back for modded Sifu will stick for the Zelda OoT gameplay and also watching this, my only 2D Sonic game I like (perhaps Sonic Advanced games too, but I am not sure). Also: Sonic R > Sonic All Star Racing Sonic The Fighter > Sonic R Sonic Blast ? Sonic Spinball (I never played Sonic Spinball, I brought Sonic Origin Plus to play with Amy and Sonic CD again, there is at least the Game Gear version on it I could try, even I heared it is the worst version).
