I really loved the original intro music "Sonic Boom".

You either need to destroy all the robot generators or collect all of the Time Stones to get the true ending. The Metal Sonic projections are optional and destroying them makes the woodland creatures appear over the act.
@tonyveron Жыл бұрын
Oh, I thought you **had** to smash the Metal Sonic generators too. I looked it up a few times when I played CD, and they all said if you do the generator route, Metal Sonic generators count too
@SonicTheCutehog Жыл бұрын
The Spin Dash option changes how it works. Genesis functions like how it does in Sonic 2 and 3 where you can mash the button to make it go further. Original functions as it does in the original Sonic CD where it cannot be charged and there is a delay before you can release it.

I've heard the main difference between Coke and Pepsi is Pepsi has more sugar and so is sweeter than Coke. Because of this Pepsi tastes better if you just have a taste of it (so it tends to perform better in taste tests), but the sweetness gets a little overbearing if you have a full glass of Pepsi which is why people tend to prefer Coke.

Obligatory Special Stage facts (Forgive me) -The goal is to take out 6 stationed UFOs before time runs out -Rings do little more than just add to score -Some UFOs contain super rings, while others contain power sneakers -Time is reduced by several seconds when Sonic touches any water areas -When time is 20 sec or less, a new UFO appears in the middle of the stage that gives extra time if hit

1:26 I've never played Sonic CD but this opening was on one of the GameCube collections. The song with Sonic Boom rocking through my tv speakers mesmerized me as a kid and now I get a deep nostalgic jolt in my heart whenever I watch it now. Suck that the music can't be heard on the playthrough, but it kicks every kind of ass and it makes me happier than I know how to discribe.

I enjoyed this game as a completionist on the xbox360, the achievements made you find every secret and do everything that you could easily miss in this version. to the machines and metal sonic hologram for the good future change in every level (good future jp music slaps). definitely a different kind of sonic game, was hard getting used to backtracking in the levels. glad the bros are diving in!

The Japanese BGM may be superior, but Sonic Boom is the superior opening theme BY FAR.

I personally think the US soundtrack is overall better. Both soundtracks have some great tracks for certain stages and time periods, but the US soundtrack overall fits the themeing of the stages better than the Japanese soundtrack, which feels pretty random on some stages with no clear match to the theme of the stage. Sonic Boom is definitely the better opening though, way better.

what I always remember hearing about the Pepsi challenge was that Sweeter drinks do better in sip tests, but do worse if tasked with drinking an entire glassful. Pepsi is noticeably sweeter than Coke... so they purposely made the Pepsi Challenge a sip test to skew the odds in their favor.

The Time stones are not the chaos emeralds. The time mechanic does change things. If you destroy the generator in the past you can visit the good future of each level. The drop dash is not from Sonic CD. It was a new mechanic in Sonic Mania. The megadrive/genesis spindash is different to the version in the original CD. It charges once instead of being revved up. Sonic has the Super Peel Out which can be revved up to gain more speed.

- Sonic CD was always meant to be Sonic 1.5, the confusion came from Ken Balough getting it wrong - this opening is fantastic & I'm so glad they got TOEI animation - the Spindash selector is that Sonic CD originally uses the Sonic 1 style of Spindash, while the Taxman version added the Sonic 2 spindash & the Origins version ads the Sonic Mania's dropdash as well - nope, ALL the music was CD quality. however the music of the Past versions was hard coded so they couldn't change it - also the US soundtrack is good but is not 9/10 good like the JP soundtrack, i will not take this baseless slander

Nice, my favorite Sonic game! As for the soundtracks, I honestly like them both. Many of the tracks are the same anyway, but I have nothing against the new ones for the international release. They're different, sure, but it's not like they're bad. I dunno, maybe it's just one of those "the original is always the best" kind of things for some people. One of the few things that I do take issue with in this game is how pointless the Future stages are. The Past is where the objectives are, the Present is where you start, but the Future doesn't really serve a purpose besides changing the background against the bosses. It's a cool mechanic and all, but I wish it was just a little more fleshed out.

The thing about uninterrupted speed in sonic cd is that the level design hates you and they hate when you have fun, so they make it unreasonably hard to do that thing frequently. It’s like they knew the levels didn’t let you trigger the jumps most of the time so they shoved in a bunch of places where two springs face each other b/c otherwise it would never happen

Even tho you said JP is kinda better than US, you can still do US since it fits the atmosphere of every level, as JP makes the entire game much hype. Both of them are good, but since its opinion, its okay though, just saying that US kinda fits the atmosphere of sonic CD (except for the boss that makes eggman menacing but sometimes a joke.)

It hurts me spiritually to not hear Sonic Boom during the opening cinematic. Overall, the Japanese soundtrack is much too hectic and overly complex. There's way too much going on, and too quickly.

There are a lot of games to keep track of; unless ur "on" all the time about the nitty gritty it's fairly easy to generalize, misremember, and misspeak about a game u aren't an expert on Some KZbinrs like that nitty gritty, some don't, some mix it up When it's something very easily verifiable or dismissible I'd try not to fault them that too much The comments are here to catch errors, offer feedback, and hopefully be read sometimes so I'm glad when I see a correction down here that helps me understand a game better
