Jeff Ward was born/brought up in Glasgow, Scotland, the average wage back then was £8000/yr(Pound has the buying power of the US Dollar),to earn over $1m by your early 20's back then racing moto x bikes,was akin to being a rock star...JW and AC/DC, 2 great Glasgow exports!

You aren't "brought up" in a country you left at age 4. See the comment by @radsdad1, including the last four words. Amazing that after retiring from pro motocross, Ward won the 1997 Indy 500 Rookie of the Year award, nearly winning the race itself.
