Sad this won't make it into production. This is how the Golf R should have always looked in my opinion. I never liked how it really doesn't look too much different than a GTI. I get there's a significant performance increase but for almost 10k more, you definitely want some more exterior upgrades or nuances.

Not totally sold on it, 400hp out of a 2 litre 4pot is a lot to ask. Fuel Mileage will be poor, turbo lag will be noticeable and the exhaust note will leave alot to be desired. I think if i was the engineers behind it I would have looked into reinventing the vr6. Vr6 tsi would be damage

A tsi VR6 would definitely be better, but then it will add to costs...am sure fuel mileage will be great because ive seen many tuned 400hp+ 2.0T that have great fuel economy and are still very reliable..
