Like a lot of sitizens in this country every year the Honda keeps getting heavier and heavier. My bone stock Ef hatchback Si weighs 2060, my gutted 600hp fully built 95 Eg coupe 2200 and the Ek I think is 2700, the newest civics are over a ton and a half! That's 3100 pounds! I am a big time power to weight ratio conscious builder and also I keep in check unsprung weight and rotating mass. Reduce unsprung weight and you have a car that handles extremely well. Reducing rotating mass pays big dividends when it come to exclamation. Tip for the builder. 1. Weight 2. Rotating mass 3. Unsprung weight. Keep all 3 of these in mind during your next build and i promise you will have an exceptional build everytime.
@ShaiyanHossain4 жыл бұрын
the newest civic are still the lightest in their class lol like 150lbs less than the corolla and still being larger, blame it on modern times and regulations also the 3100lbs is for the type r (which is still ighter than other cars in its class btw) the standard civics go from 2800 for base lx sedan to 3030 for the sport touring hatch fwiw the 10th gen civic also weighs less than the 9th generation it replaces while being aa much larger car
@jimhiscott29184 жыл бұрын
@@ShaiyanHossain Good ole regulations right. As for being drag coefficient the 92-95 year of Honda's (besides the Hybrid ) have the least frontal area of Honda's in there generation. Physically looking at the 92-95 Eg Honda's you can see they are a very sleek car in design. This has makes them very popular in racing applications. Frontal cd is a scant 0.32 only being out done by the CRX at .030 that is all around a smaller car. The total cda of the Eg is only 6.36 This is very low in comparison. They punch a very small hole in the air.

4 cylinders do supercharging better because they have instant low end tq. Turbo does better on v8 and up because of exhaust flow . .... I really hope nobodies surprised that it could do that . screw compressors work better on 4 cylinders because of a lack of resistance and the fact that they can be taken to higher rpms because they aren't directly attached to the engine and hold less heat . nice car
