I’ve had an iridium for a few months now. Really only was using it with headphones when the kids were sleeping. I finally bought a headrush to use it how it should be. Never really liked the Fender IRs that came with the iridium. Broke down and bought the York audio twin and vibrolux. What an absolute game changer. Took the blanket off the iridium immediately. Thank you for this video. Looks like the M25 is going to be my next purchase.

I bought the Boss IR 200. It has IRs from Celestion. I really like their Vintage 30. I turn off all the other stuff and use just the IRs, with different preamps. Sounds killer

@SuperdangerStudios I wasn't crazy about their own preamp. But the high resolution IRs with my own assortment of stuff turned out good for me. And it has a lot of options s for blending too.

I run my Iridium at my church, using DH IRs. That has been a never ending battle, but I have never been able to get a really solid rock tone out of any of them. If I want to dial in say a hotrod 800 tone, I rely on HX stomp modeling. These sound good, I would like to hear with a fat humbucker.

A hotrod 800 tone at church! Sign me up for that church, man. I’m by no means a churchgoing dude, but that could change things up. Around my ways it’s pipe organ music for pink haired ladies in churches.

I bought a bunch of York Audio IRs a while back and your videos were very helpful in figuring out which ones to get. The best Marshall JCM 800 sound I found on the Iridium was using a 24.75" scale guitar with humbuckers into Klon Centaur + Chime + MRSH 412 MV30-Dual. The Ownhammer GNR that comes with the Iridium is very good as well.

Acabo de comprar los irs. Espectacular lo que he podido probar !. Muchas gracias . Aunque me surge la duda de si los irs emulan también etapa de potencia ( soy nuevo con los irs).muchas gracias !

Thanks for watching! IRs do not replicate any part of the amplifier, just the speaker response. Most modelers take the power section into account when they design the algorithm though. But if you want something more detailed the Origin Effects pedals model it really well and all analog. Korg also used to make a pedal that simulated a power section called the power tube reactor. I believe earthquake devices also makes a power tube distortion pedal as well! Hope this helps.

I gotta try the Friedman. Lots of comments about it.
@TheRodge21124 ай бұрын
@@SuperdangerStudios Not to add more clutter to this comment section, but you should get your hands on the Supro 64 reverb--the multi-knob brother of the one-knob-wonder Supro 64 Super, which you have. The 64 reverb has a mix line out that you can run into the Iridium and use as the preamp (turning off the Iridium amp sim). I was pretty impressed with how good it sounds through Iridium IRs. Plus, you can dial in the real spring reverb of the amp for that vintage glory. Anyway--just a suggestion. Thanks!

Yo! I've not yet jumped on an Iridium to put on my pedal board to use as a direct to FOH, ampless rig. It still has my favorite "form factor" - simple and practical and all I need, nothing I don't - easy to dial on the fly. Do you still think it holds its own against the current competition like the Tonex and Boss IR-2 as a direct to FOH setup?
@SuperdangerStudios4 ай бұрын
I would say the ToneX is really a cut above. I use the IK Multimedia stuff all the time and it sounds amazing. The ToneX one is such a simple setup and I think its like $175 or close to that. The Dream still amazes me with it's sound as well. Really great tones, but no Midi. Haven't tried the IR-2 but I have heard great things online. Really they all offer quality tones, it just depends on what kind of extra features you would need, (stereo, midi, latency, etc).

Would a Strymon Iridium pedal pair well with a distorted amplifier channel?"
@SuperdangerStudiosАй бұрын
Hi! I don't think that would sound good bc the iridium is really meant to live as an amp channel on it's own. It sounds pretty good going into the Poweramp section of an amp but not as much into a preamp. Hope this helps!
@SuperdangerStudiosАй бұрын
Also clarifying when you say pair you mean into one? If you meant pair as in alongside as in channel A is iridium channel B is a distorted channel then it can totally work.
@Savior.MountgreenАй бұрын
@@SuperdangerStudios Yes, I mean in a basic overdrive channel, perhaps with a little overdrive from the amp, and then engage the Strymon
@SuperdangerStudiosАй бұрын
That would likely not work very well. It’s really meant to take place of the amp or to go into a power amp stage. Does that make sense? You might want to check out origin effects amp pedals as they can run into an amp and act as an amp simulator as well!
@Savior.MountgreenАй бұрын
@@SuperdangerStudiosSo, the Strymon doesn't pair well with a dirty amplifier, but it does pair well with another amplifier simulator pedal, the Revival Drive, as you demonstrated in another video.

Did you change the neck on your Telecaster? Where is the neck from? Or is this not actually a Fender American Tele?
@SuperdangerStudios4 ай бұрын
I did change the neck and the pickups. It was an American AVRi 52 from mid 2000s but the truss rod broke. So got a roasted maples from Warmoth. Pickups are Lollar, Royal T and special T. Did a video on it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHvFf3mVnb6lsM0

Iridium and IR are both mono. I added a small amount of room reverb to mimic the sound in the room. That is in stereo but minimally.
