I think now would be a good time for guys to go on a vacation like Disneyland in California. Surviving through a hurricane sounds terrifying. I'm lucky I live in the heartland of America and all we have to worry about is snow and occasionally tornadoes. A hurricane sounds scary and they're huge too. A lot bigger than a tornado. Stay safe.

The teal pumpkins were started by a mom whose kids had severe food allergies. They couldn't participate in trick or treating because of their allergies. She wanted a way for her kids to be able to trick or treat like other kids so she started the Teal Pumpkin Project. It means that any house with a teal pumpkin on display will provide allergy free treats for kids with allergies. Pretty great idea!

Hi Jackie! I used to live in Florida and I know what it's like weathering through a major storm like this. I live in North Carolina now and Ian is expected to go over the state as a tropical storm. Try "World Market" for BritChow like the mini ravioli with sausages, or 'digestive' biscuits...and even the blue label 'Heinz baked beans' (in tomato sauce)...and they'll have great sweets for xmas and 'Christmas crackers' (that pop) too.

C.I.P. is great advice for any emergent situation, I like it! We were visiting the area a few years back and got WALLOPED by hurricane Irma, so I found myself nodding frantically at a bunch of these tips and tricks and wishing that we had taken some notes beforehand! Having a full tank of gas is definitely a good call. Appreciate your calm heads and positive energy during a time that can be scary for recent transplants and visiting tourists. 🙂 We know you true-blue Floridians are battle-hardened after a number of hurricanes, but stay safe all the same! P.S. Loving the Target 'Hide and Eek' options, but Home Depot CRUSHED the animatronic and yard display game this year!

Thankfully for Orlando (but not for those south of Orlando), the storm took a huge turn to the east and stayed mostly south of Orlando. Lots of flooding and downed trees today but it’s much less severe than it could have been. How did u fare thro it? Got power? The thing is today to stay off the roads bc of flooding and downed trees and stuff. So another day hunkered down haha.

I am English. My first ever visit to Florida was in October 1993 and I remember being blown away by the range of Halloween merchandise in Target and Wallmart. Back then Halloween was not celebrated much over here and nothing was available in our superstores. I still have the first item I bought, a twirling window mobile with pumpkins and streamers, and I still hang it up every year for my grandchildren. Choices, including costumes, have got better in recent years when Walmart owned one of our bigger supermarket chains - Asda. Now, as a country, we are all Halloweened up but America still does it the best. Thanks for sharing your shopping trip. Much appreciated as I miss Florida and Disney as I have health problems and am no longer able to travel. I enjoyed your trips to our Theme Parks, especially Harry Potter World. Come back and see us soon, maybe next time in late May/early June when the weather is usually warm

As a fan of Halloween, I would be prioritizing decorations over essentials. 😆 I worked through Storm Sandy which knocked out power to my home for 3 days. It wasn’t fun at all especially walking to work in a rain coat and a lantern as storm knocked out the power. I can’t imagine doing this annually as Florida seems to handle. Stay safe!

We are staying in in Coronado springs. They seem to be on top of things. We’ve changed our plans tonight from boathouse to Rix bar and grill! Not exactly the same but it’ll do in this pinch.
