@48:05 I have actually done that exact reference with doubling season out!! haha the table scooped... I was sad I didn't get to do anything. Also as far as a must have walker not mentioned Gideon, Champion of Justice is pretty amazing! he was won me several games all by himself, playing against the token decks in my group and keeping him protected through a fog effect or counter I've been able to ult him the second turn he was out and leave him with 12 loyalty counters for his 0 ability making him an indestructible 12/12 while nobody even has any lands to do anything with.

I've went a little different with my superfriends deck. I turned my sen triplets into a walker esk deck. still need a few walkers to make it work. but esper control the board with walkers staying most of the time is nice

Hey guys! Thought it might be important to point out that I can hear a little pre-echo of Josh's voice. I noticed it specifically from 14:49-14:59. If you listen closely, Josh's voice comes out quietly before it's supposed to, then you hear Josh's voice on the same volume level as Jimmy's. It's like an echo, except it's happening BEFORE Josh speaks. That's all. ^^

Inexorable Tide is only as good as the number of spells you can cast, and I feel Contagion Engine/Clasp or Viral Drake are better as they are more reliable. If you're only interested in Ulting one particular planeswalker at a given scenario, Clockspinning is an excellent way to get them up by 2-3 extra counters on them.

Garruk, Caller of Beasts and Vraska the Unseen are my favorites because every effects are awesome, not just the ultimate. But best ultimates are from Elspeth, Knight-Errant, Gideon, Champion of Justice, Venser, the Sojourner and both Tamiyo.

I like highlander too, but the formats are massively different, the 4 players and 40 life push you into combo decks aside from tempo decks, which I really like. Feels like Vintage with the battles over card advantage and trying to manage counterspells and answers so you can find a way to win without letting your opponent do so, also the banlist is super small, and no pointslist, so some decks get to do some crazy cool stuff. And it's still a bit of a laugh with friends, just exactly what I love.

The first tezzeret is an all-star in a superfriends deck: go grab that rings of brighhearth, that ensaring bridge, that mana rock or that torpor orb. Plus if you happen to have him and the chain veil and mana rock like mana vault (or basalt monolith), you can activate your planeswalkers abilities as many time as the number of mana in your pool minus 3. Almost every walker you have on the BF at that time will ultimate. He also can fix you mana (hello artifact land/lotus bloom/mox opal). And he also gets you the rings of brighthearth/basalt monolith infinite colorless mana combo. As I've said: an all-star!!

I have a zurgo helmsmasher superfriends deck. Zurgo loves tons of wraths and so do walkers. It might seem weird that a voltron general would make a good superfriends commander but it's pretty fun.

+Ian Mayberry last thing my story about stealing another doubling season I had mine out, I stole somebody else's since I love doing that in Magic, the. I clever impersonatied for a third one and I had some much loyalty on all my Planeswalkers it was awesome. Slamming an Ugin and Karn never felt so good.

I was watching the episode where you are describing the top 5 most powerful edh decks and in it you discuss ways to generate infinite mana. One of the ways you describe is with Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal. Along with untapping mana rocks, if you have Chain Veil or Contagion Engine you can have infinite planeswalker ability activation or loyalty counters. Also, Inchor Rats and Contagion Engine are a good combo, as well as the Helm of Obedience combo. I haven't done it yet, but I am planning on trying it out to see how effective these combos are. Let me know what you think.

I have 2 self emposed rules for my super friends deck. 1: I can only use board wipes that also destroys Planeswalkers. 2: I can only have seven walkers out

Why do you self impose those rules? If your planeswalkers are that much of a problem, then shouldn't your playgroup adapt to it, not you? This is my opinioj of course.

+Bailey Holmes With commander (assuming the people in the playgroup love playing mtg and commander), I feel as though budget decks are just a phase, lol. I remember getting my first pre con deck for commander. At first I only stuck with cards within my collection. Then I started buying 50 cent to 1dollar cards. Then 5 dollars. then 20, and then 50 and so on... I didn't and still don't even have a disposable income. Simply playing tournaments and trading cards fueled my decks.

I remember my first Planeswalker. Had only been playing MTG for a few years, never heard of a Planeswalker, and than for about a week my brother and his friend whom is basically also a brother to me, talking about these over powered cards called "Planeswalkers", and I wanted one of these super cards. Coming back from a camp I got we all went and got a MTG pack, my brother and his friend got nothing special, but I pulled Jace, Memory Adept. And I was soooo happy, didn't know he was good, but I showed him off my brother's friend was upset that I got a good Planeswalker he didn't own. And than I feel in love with Jace, blue, and of course Mill, and wanted the big daddy of Jace, buuuut he's like 130 bucks so sticking with my Memory Adept.

New emrakul doesn't give you an extra turn Jimmy, it gives your opponent an extra turn. Also Chain Veil is inherently better and more flexible than Rings of Brighthearth in a Superfriends deck except in the situation where you only have one planeswalker. It costs the same as using Rings twice but you can choose different abilities to activate each time if you want instead of just copying the same one. Also, obviously, it scales and gets cheaper relatively the more Planeswalkers you have. Also, besides Doubling Season, Inexorable Tide is the best way to cheat their loyalty up because it just gives you passive benefit forever after (unless someone destroys it obs) and it synergizes with doubling season anyways.

Couldn't you do garruk wild speaker and ral zarek with the chain veil and any two lands that produce two mana, temple of the false god, Boris garrison, etc, to constantly untap the lands get an extra ability with the chain veil, use garruk to untap the lands again and ral to untap the chain veil, eventually to the point where you can ultimate ral and garruk get more turns and do it again

my superfriends deck involves a flying purple hippo grouphug superfriends is what I love party Jace draws each player a card I play group ramp and group card draw each player gets to do what their deck is supposed to do because they will draw upwards of 5 cards each of their turns they all fire off and amass board states then I wipe it with wrath of god or day of judgement once Narset ults, it's gg

I built a 5 color Superfriends deck and I use 1 of each name in the deck so I currently have 32 planeswalkers in it... I'm looking for advice on which "walker" of each name I should use for the most value. Most specifically Elspeth, Jace, and Ajani. Currently I'm using Sun's Champion, Architect of Thought, and Mentor of Heroes.

Mentor is my personal favorite Ajani for this strategy. Vengeant is good because one sided Armageddon is really strong, but Mentor digs for more walkers! definitely a staple. I agree with your use of Suns champion and Architect Jace.

I know this is old but in my meta when a superfriends player doesn't have a planeswalker out he isn't the target anymore because he cant do anything. Everyone goes for the PW but once its gone everyone stops focusing on him and try to kill each other.

One use of Chain Veil is to combo it with Teferi. A couple of double mana rocks out, and it's infinite draw, infinite mana

So basically, every chain veil activation stacks. It works for all planeswalkers that turn, not just those out on the battlefield. You use the -1 to untap chain veil and 3 rocks. The last time you -1, it kills Teferi. You can then recast him, and for every time you've tapped the chain veil, you get another use on the "new" teferi. You can do this several times, then you can plus him as many times as you want in essence. You just need teferi, chain veil, and 3 permanents that tap for 6 mana (if you have grim monolith, gilded lotus, basalt monolith, or mana vault, with a sol ring, any basic land will do.)

You know with all the atraxa superfriends decks noone ever utilizes kiora master of waves and kiora the crashing waves with all the loyalty counters and doublers and proliferates you can pull off both ultimates and start getting hight powered creatures pretty quickly since one can give you 3 8/8s and thebother gives you a 9/9

you say planeswalker commanders can't attack for commander damage but I saw someone imprison in the moon their own jace, telepath unbound (the planeswalker side of flip jace) then awakened it for 6 and removed the imprisoned in the moon. now its a 6/6 planeswalker creature - Jace elemental...

I have never stole anyone's' Doubling Season but I have made a token copy of it 3 turns in a row, note that is actually 11 Doubling Seasons. I did it with Soul Foundry and Clever Impersonator then made a stupid amount of Clever Impersonators (2048 of them in fact) copying everyone's nonland board state.

I don’t think that Jimmy’s assessment that the chain veil is a winmore card is correct. I don’t think you can undervalue ticking up loyalty each turn. The activated ability is not as important as shortening the fuse on the ultimate. Besides, how is doubling season not the ultimate Winmore card? It’s a one card combo with every planeswalker, and you pay once for it. How many times do you need to free instant ultimate to win?

How dare you call Nissa Worldwaker mediocre! With a Prismatic Omen, she can untap any 4 lands you have. I've also ult'd her with Omnath, Locus of Rage, and then cast Soulblast after tapping all the land for mana. Then play Splendid Reclamation, GG.

I couldn't disagree more about The Chain Veil. Pair this with Tezzeret or Ral Zarek and you get a ridiculous amount of value, and also with any Walker that gives you mana, you get the ability to go infinite Planeswalker abilities. Tezzeret + Chain Veil + Sol Ring + Garruk Wildspeaker is just one of the many combos you can go crazy with this.

Even Teferi can do this for a couple of times, I've played and ultimated both ugin and Bolas on the same turn because Teferi untaps 4 permanets, untaping mana rocks, lands and the Veil... so broken! My friends pretty much scoop whenever I get this combo, which is kind of sad. =/

+Tonelli Gui Yeah I have been in a similar situation where Teferi was a surrogate combo piece, usually allowing me to use chain Veil enough times to ultimate one or two walkers and win that way. I have noticed that I do usually have my opponents scoop to this type of deck more often than I actually win with it. you just tend to generate so much advantage that you may not have the kill immediately but usually an emblem or a certain # of walkers will just present too annoying of an obstacle. which is unfortunate :( games never go on long enough for me to have fun with some of the emblems due to scooping.
