I know what you mean. Even though music is still around, and amazing, it was something special to come home from school and just turn on MTV. You never knew when an amazing piece of art would hit you, and you'd be so open all ears out. Amazing times. Underrated? Are you kidding me? They were one of the biggest bands in Britain having 6 top ten albums with 3 of them taking the top 3 positions which means they had a no. 1 album, a no. 2 and no. 3 album. They had 6 top 10 singles and 14 top 40 singles which isn't bad at all. Supergrass did better than Pulp actually but Blur and Oasis were way ahead and of course they were marketed out to the last. Blur and Oasis were very clever with that race they had to get to no. 1 which triggered massive album and single sales anytime they had releases to put out. Damon Albarn went on to be very successful with Gorilliz, The Good the Bad and the Queen and his solo projects. Noel and Liam have also had very successful solo careers but I would agree that Oasis songs are very bland for me and uninteresting. Mansun were also another very successful band who were much better than any of the above but the lead singer went way to progressive to early which means the public didn't really get them so they didn't become as big as they should have. Mansun for me were the best out of the lot of them by far but they didn't play the media like Oasis, Blur and Pulp did as these bands knew how to stay in the papers every day which kept them relevant.
