DoctorDovely it’s not that bad from my understanding going to the past effects nothing there is some form of self-correcting unless an infinity stone is taken which causes a split in the timeline this is because when the woman from Dr Strange shows the timeline she shows one consistent stream and Hulk says what happens in the past doesn’t affect the future so when SPOILERS Cap goes back in time he leaves the stones back to maintain a consistent timeline

Have you ever considered the Zombie movies or 'zombie Flesh Eaters' as they are also know? those movies are all over the place, the later sequels are actually sequels from totally unrelated movies, not ignoring the fact that you'll need a break after this timeline of course

I agree that the continuity of the X-Men movies isn't exactly easy to understand. And that the only way to have any of them make any sense is by splitting the timeline off into different continuities rather than lumping everything together into a single continuity. Part of that I guess can be blamed on the writers, directors, and so on. I mean, you know how it is with movies. All directors retire or are called away to work on other movies and thus they have to bring in replacements and said replacements decide to toss around their own ideas and the continuity even though it doesn't match up with what came before. As for the characters not aging, well, you've got to remember while the points in which these movies take place may be years, or even decades apart, the actors themselves usually age about one year, at most. And I doubt a lot of fans would be happy if they replaced the actors they were familiar with with different actors just for the sake of making them look older. The one thing about your review that really gets me though is that you keep bringing up 9/11. Yes, the original X-Men movie is supposed to take place in "the near future." But that was just in the movie. In reality 9/11 had not happened yet. And you can't expect people in Hollywood to predict the future.

I guess it’ll take another three years to tackle something like this again. Perhaps the James Bond series?
@StarshineGoomba4 жыл бұрын
Second watch of this one, because why not? Y'know, when it comes to the First Class timeline, I can somewhat excuse the mutants for not aging, but not the humans. I mean... unless they're going by comic book aging.
@SirNerdLeroy3 жыл бұрын
The only explainable timeline error I've easily fixed in my head is how there's 2 deadpools. The events of origins didnt happen after Logan changed the past so that version of Wade didnt do the missions with Stryker. He just stayed at home and settled down. The Wade we know in Deadpool has to be his Child

You could assume with Days of Future Past that there were some failed attempts with the time traveling and what we saw was the successful one and would explain the minor timeline discrepancies up to that point, which I know just opens a whole new can of worms. I do like the explanation in Logan tho, the movies/comics are based on what actually happened but a bunch of liberties were taken because Hollywood's gotta Hollywood. Anyway, I was waiting a long time for you to get to X-Men and it was very much well worth the wait. Also, Congratulations on the 3 year anniversary, I stumbled on your videos towards the beginning (I think someone linked to your F13 video on Reddit) and Movie TImelines has been one of my favorite YT channels since. @Movie Timelines I know you are focusing on the Movies, but the same issue regarding Age was raised with the Comics and it has been addressed... ...The mutant X Gene also affects aging in a variety of ways, teh most common being an elongated lifespan. Applied to the Movies, The only real issue is actually Sir Ian McKellan playing Magneto at all when Fassbender could have done it for every movie and it would still have fit! Patrick Stewart though was a perfect casting...

Future Past is honestly the only X-Men movie that I like. There are moments in the other movies that I like, but as a whole I don't care for the other movies. I am all onboard for the "future" X-Men in Future Past being from a different continuity. Basically the different continuities in the movies and TV shows are all just different realities in the mutiverse along with the MCU, non-MCU movies, and Comics. Also it would make sense that 9/11 at least happened differently in these timelines. Seeing how mutants are the hated minority, if a 9/11 event happened it would have been a mutant or group of mutants that did it. Also Happy Anniversary. Love your channel and I still get excited every time you release a new video.Keep up the great work.

Dark Phoenix is supposed to be in a different timeline than X Men (2000). Timeline 1: X-Men: First Class X-Men: Days Of Future Past X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men X2: X-Men: United X-Men: The Last Stand The Wolverine X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Future Sequence) Timeline 2: X-Men: First Class X-Men: Days Of Future Past X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Past Sequence) X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix Deadpool Deadpool 2 The New Mutants X-Men: Days Of Future Past (Future Sequence) Logan Sometimes they forget other movie things so first-class still is in both universes and that character is not Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club as seen in X-Men: First Class, and is a different character based on Emma Frost.
