All those flood rescues reminded me of a time when so many people in my hometown jumped in. A little kid got swept away in an early summer rush in the creek. Two women who saw it, just leaped into the water to save the kid. One was a weak swimmer, and that water was moving FAST! And it’s melted snow, so it was burningly cold! The cold caused both swimmers respiratory distress, making it very hard to breathe. But the stronger swimmer wasn’t about to let go of the kid and got him back to shore. The less-strong swimmer… clung to a rock until another swimmer went to help her. …I forget I sink like a stone in water. I just wanted to help the kid before he reached the brewery’s dam. I was the not-strong swimmer. No idea who the other woman was! We just had the same thought and jumped in!

Once in my childhood, I saved a friend who fell under the ice. And a few years ago, I put out a fire at my elderly neighbors and saved them and their apartment before the firemen arrived. But not felt as a superhero)

I got stuck in my wheelchair on a road when trying to cross and 3 cars stopped, put their hazard lights on and just sat there. NO ONE got out to help! An old man about 75 yrs old RAN down the footpath too help me instead! (In Australia)

Yeah, it's a REAL HASSLE to get out of a car and actually assist someone. 😅 Better to stay inside until the difficulty (YOU, the inconvenience) passes😂 That is what I imagine goes on in the minds of drivers who see you and want to do as LITTLE as possible. 😢 Hope you have better luck crossing the road in the future.
