Superman looks like a powerhouse coaster with the punch and speed of an accelerator combined with the layout and style of an intamin blitz.

Love this ride. Nice to hear it compares well to its overseas cousins! The slow operations mixed with phone-less, cramped queue makes it really hard to re-ride unless the park's quiet. Fun fact: It used to exit into a gift shop, which naturally had to close as nobody had their wallets due to the loose item policy 😂

That sounds like how Six Flags Great Adventure has a QR code as you exit El Toro to get your photo, yet no phones are allowed their either.

Wow. I was worried about this review, but you did a great job. This is the coaster that made me an enthusiast. I first rode it in 2006 or 2007 and it's aged really well in my opinion. Glad you mentioned that ejector hill gives stronger airtime than anything on DC Rivals. I've also done Formula Rossa and Storm Runner (and a few other Intamin Accellerators) and I've always come back to Superman Escape being the most complete experience and not one trick ponies. Would be interesting to see where you place this in your top 100 as it's often overshadowed by DC Rivals being in the same park. Very underrated coaster in my opinion.

definitely not underrated!! ha its the opposite. its like by far the most overrated coaster in Australia. its all alright but definitely gets overhyped with aussie enthusiasts. its still a top 3 or 5 in Australia for me but far from my favourite.

@@StamfordBridge I was honestly expecting an 8.5/10, but I'll take it! You know how I always go on about this ride so this makes me really happy. It's definitely close between Superman and Storm Runner. Both excellent.
@Marty_NZ Жыл бұрын
@@radbricks8298 at a global enthusiast scale, no one talks about Superman. Aussie enthusiasts make up a very small percentage. It's always "must get down to Australia for DC Rivals, bucket list coaster". Superman won't even get a mention. Hopefully more will see this review and realise it's actually good. It's definitely not the best coaster in Australia anymore, and neither is DC Rivals.

No doubt my favourite ride in Australia. The theming is so great, then the launch happens, and while without the great stats of other Accelerators, is so fun and includes a headchopper (quite an unexpected element), the whole ride is full of ejector airtime and the drop off the top hat may be as good as DC Rivals, if not better. DC Rivals made me interested in roller coasters, this ride made me truly an enthusiast.

9.5 is high praise. It does look like a more complete intamin launch coaster. That airtime hill and following transition look freeken nuts. That's the part of this ride that makes you think it's trying to kill you. Looks so sick. Is 9.5 because of the added pretty good theming? What is it without? Probably still at least a 9
@CanobieCoaster Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the theming is why I bumped it to a 9.5. That's what puts it above Storm Runner.

I honestly had no idea this ride existed-I was only aware of DC Rivals and Green Lantern. What an absolutely fantastic dark ride section! It really ties into the launches coaster theme well, and the layout sounds short but sweet. Speaking of the aforementioned Green Lantern, I’d be curious to see a review video of that as well-having ridden Steel Hawg, I’m wondering if they worked out some of the prototype kinks for GL.

This is a cool ride but I don’t see myself ever riding it, since I’m a diabetic I have to take some form of glucose (usually jelly beans) on the ride in case of a break down or e stop and my blood sugar goes low. Since I can’t take anything on these coasters I can’t be physically safe.

I've always thought this ride was really cool. I like the dark ride section and it's effect too. I do dislike when rides don't let you bring stuff if you use zipper pockets. Why punish the people properly prepared for a coaster? I mean, I get it, convenience but it's disappointing. I do like the idea of single ride/one time use fast passes. Fast Passes are just so expensive nowadays. We paid $120 (well I got 30% off with pass) for Busch Gardens fast passes.... on a Wednesday. I still get them at basically every park I go to, just because it seems like every park, even regional parks, seem to be as busy as I remember the worst days at Disney being as a kid. I can't catch a break with visiting on a slow day in the last couple of years haha.

Its such a shame that these amazing rides at this park seem such a pain to ride. The locker system, loose articles policy, slow operations that you can't overcome on a quiet day because of 1 train in use and not enough staff, really put me off visiting an otherwise amazing looking park.

It’s a great accelerator but not the best for me. The layout is more interesting than Kingda Ka and Stealth but it lacks consistency in pacing. The initial 2-sec launch was the best part, but the top hat was excruciatingly slow and rest of the layout was just ok
