With a good director, a fair budget, and modern special effects, Christopher Reeve's Superman would have been a god on the big screen. Think about it; the guy flew at light speed, controlled time, lifted tectonic plates, pushed the moon, and got caught in the blast radius of a nuke without any injury whatsoever. If that kind of power was portrayed with today's special effects, he would have comfortably mopped the floor with BvS Doomsday.

Don't you mean Goldar? And yes I actually agree. Nuclear Man actually does have more of a story arc to him in both the finished cut and the original cut. In the finished cut he is at first Lex Luthor's lab experiment and guinea pig who starts to develop a fixation with Lacy Warfield. In the original cut Nuclear Man not only did that but he also nearly starts WW III with the aim of wiping out all life on Earth except for him and Lacy. In Justice League Steppenwolf was just basically there to be Darkseid's right hand man and take orders and that was it (ZSJL). In the 2017 version, he's just there to gather some mother boxes and that was it. No personality of his own at all.

Which actually proves, Superman, has just as much a chance, or even more, of being killed, by someone with the same Super-powers, when all is equal, couldn't kill the 3 villains in Superman 2, with his Super-powers, and even the Super-computer, he had to use acid, to destroy it, instead of his Super-powers!

In this scene, Nuclear Man carries through with his threat and begins attacking the moon. Superman shows up and asks him politely to stop. When NM continues his senseless assault, The Man of Steel takes prompt action and begins taunting him mercilessly. " You're acting career is over ! " , he jeers. " "Smashing paper mache moon rocks and grunting can't save it. For heaven's sake, you may at least still be able to land some voice over work ! " But the villainous Nuclear Man won't relent. He is determined to be recast as a Lois Lane type stand -in for Margo Kidder, ala Tootsie with Dustin Hoffman. He shows Supes how he has already grown long, womanly fingernails for the part. It's too late, he screams, he's already spent half of his $25 salary on ' Glow in the Dark 'nail polish ! Can Superman stop him ? Can our hero save the moon from this low brow, no back story, non-dialogue speaking drama school reject ? Watch and enjoy ! ( P. S. I was surprised as to why Nuclear Man didn't just scratch Superman again to make him weak because, I'm sure he knew that, that would be a weakness to Superman and of course, Superman couldn't heal himself again now that he used up the kryptonian capsule.
@kylewagner13107 жыл бұрын
afriendofbean maybe he thought since it didn't work the first time, he could just buried Superman. He thought Superman were just like him got powered up from the sun.
@afriendofbean7 жыл бұрын
+Kyle Wagner That might be true that Nuclear Man's scratch didn't cause any problem to Superman in any way. However, after Superman put the Statue of Liberty back, I'm sure Nuclear Man saw Superman fall inside the torch which probably told Nuclear Man that the scratch made Superman weak especially since he kicked Superman causing Superman to fly up into the air which could give a clue that Superman was weak because of the scratch. That would be unknown if Nuclear Man really thought that Superman gains power from the sun too because, in that building scene, Nuclear Man saw Superman go inside the elevator and probably saw that Superman didn't lose power from getting shade from the sun when going in the elevator. On the other hand, when Superman pushed him in the elevator, Nuclear Man lost his power and only got his power back because the sun came up to outer space.
@clarkkent55877 жыл бұрын
afriendofbean it's true that the scratch hurt him badly, but without knowing how from NM's side, Superman still manage to come back, so to him, maybe burying him is the next "logic" thing to do to destroy Superman.
@afriendofbean7 жыл бұрын
+Clark Kent Yes, maybe Nuclear Man didn't know that Superman cured himself with a kryptonian capsule assuming his weakness disappeared and he got his powers back soon. Also perhaps maybe Nuclear Man felt that Superman was powerful than his (Nuclear Man) claw zappers. Then I guess Nuclear Man was at wits end feeling there was no way to destroy Superman (Nuclear Man probably didn't know much since he was only created by Lex Luthor where Lenny Luthor said that Nuclear Man is nothing but an experiment freako) feeling the only way to keep Superman hidden from Lex Luthor was to bury him whether he knew that would kill him or not. In my opinion, burying Superman wouldn't kill him since he's powerful and he probably would have been able to breathe being buried deeply under the moon if he's able to breathe in outer space.

Y'know, it's not a bad Idea, but do you also know what'll make it more awesome? Record this clip, and convert it at 1.5 speed, but with the same music. That'll be as perfect as you'd imagine.

You know how to fix Nuclear Man? Rather make him an ancient Kryptonian Sun God who betrayed his father, Rao, and was banished to Earth in a mortal form, and then he finds a way to become a Sun God again.
