Then they just bring him right back and rush to make Justice League a thing to even hope of competing with Marvel. It was all crap imo. I thought the Snydercut JL was a decent movie, but none of it feels like comic books

the thing thats really bothered me about snyders films is that it feels like hes inspired by darker comics without understanding why those comics are dark or why their darkness works in the first place. miller has said before that when he wrote DKR he wrote it from the perspective of not "waht if batman was old and fucked up" but was more like "what if batman was a real person when his comics started and aged in real time," of course implying that DKR doesnt take place in the future but actually in the present, or at least the present when it was released and felt more like a commentary about the changing of the trajectory of comics, ironically the comic itself being one of the main driving forces for comics becoming darker. you can tell snyders take doesnt even have half as much love or thought put into its interpretation of batman, let alone ANY of the other characters in his universe

@ completely agree. Dark Comics aren’t meant to just be “comics but cool”, darker comics and storylines are meant to be a reflection of comic books and a different take on the industry. While comics have shifted more towards darker and realistic tones they have, for the most part, kept a lot of their original inspirations and optimistic outlook of the world as comics do. Snyder seems like all he cares about is cool powers and badass action heroes. And that’s fine!! But that’s not what comics are made for. They lost a whole lot of their inspiration, and then he couldn’t even stick to staying dark!! Instead they wanted to try and copy Marvel humor at the last minute to try and be comparable.
