I really don't like the whole alien storyline they like to do with Superman nowadays, makes him come off as petulent and whiny, but this..this could be interesting, especially since he's going to be meeting Martian Manhunter, and the two could have something of a connection. In fact, I wouldn't even mind if they had something of a mentor/student roll with one another seeing as how Martian Manhunter has similar powers as Superman. Fire is his kyrptonite.

One of the things I like about Snyder’s Superman is that he’s a more 3 dimensional character. Not just this guy with powers. He is aware that his presence creates a gigantic disturbance on Earth, and he doesn’t know what the right thing to do is. Maybe it’s just leave. Earth is at the very least a complex planet with tedious and tenuous relationships between all of her human tribes. Now along comes Kal El. Who happens to land in Kansas. He grows up and is raised on western values. He is a product of Johnathan and Martha’s Americanism, and the Age of Enlightenment. He has absolute ideas on good vs. evil, right vs. wrong, and that scare the holy hell out of people who don’t see the world the way Americans do. It puts him in a precarious position. Some people probably don’t even want his help. There’d be much to think about being Superman. You’re a threat to every human being with power on the planet, starting with Luther. From the moment you exist every nation state would start figuring out how to kill you. THIS IS EARTH. We don’t play that cumbaya shit. So I wonder if this version of Superman will still be a thinking person’s Superman or are we going back to the one dimensional “Up, Up, And Away” crap. At least Lois seems smart as hell, and darker.
