Hey Comicstorian! I really love your videos! They've gotten me up to speed on all the backlog of years worth of comics I haven't read yet. I only started reading comics since the New 52, and maybe it's why I'm partially biased in favor of the New 52. Anyway, I love the characterization of this pre-New 52 Superman and how he's one of the characters that really epitomizes the core theme of Rebirth. BUT since I only started reading Superman stories since the New 52, I'm not so familiar with his canon aside from the fact that he died and was resurrected from the Doomsday event (since this is heavily referenced in current comics). Maybe you could do a video summarizing this Superman's life so far? I know it goes way back from 1986 so I think it'd be a really helpful video for relatively recent Superman fans like me. Anyway, keep doing an amazing job on your videos, man! Peace! :D

Likewise, I mean New-52 was powerful too, but much younger hence not as experienced. Still I don't care about power, the Pre-New 52 Supes just had a lot more optimism, and overall more heart in my opinion. At least when he was written well. Plus I hated the whole Superman and Wonder Woman thing. Lois and Clark is the only way to go imo.

Agreed, I am glad that Pre 52 Superman is back. Max Landis has showed us that you don't need to depower Superman to make him awesome and relatable. And Jurgen's Superman Lois and Clark showed that a Superman with experience with a wife and child can be great. Let's hope DC has taken notes for the future.

The status quo of the superman which concluded in 2011didn't include a biological son by Lois Lane but it did include a foster sonnamed Chris Kent who had experience accelerated maturation and was a young man. Convergence Superman was from an event where every incarnation of Superman was ineffective. That Superman had a child with Lois Lane and the three went to New 52 Earth where Convergence Superman continued to be ineffective. You are telling me Doomsday 2, H'el on Earth (where Superboy died), and Forever Evil happened and those weren't the prime opportunities for Convergence Superman to step forward? Further, by accepting Convergence Superman as pre-2011 Superman, you a validating not only New52, you are validating Convergence as an event which supersedes Crisis on Infinite Earth. I can't do either. In conclusion, pre-2011 Superman wore red speed shorts over his blue leggings in the fashion of 1930’s era acrobats and weight lifters.

As long as dc keeps this superman permanently and ignores the fans who want them to bring what they see as their superman back, who define that Superman as a ''solid character'' and a ''man of action.'', then that's ok with me.
