Since the late 70s/early 80s my (nerd) friends and I often talked "if we started a comics company..." and what "rules" we'd include. I think we were often ahead of our time. I remember some rules like, "real death is permanent." "Ghosts are not the dead, they are the memories of the dead." "No large scale destruction of cities, populations, the planet." "Aliens, but only a few and rarely." "No time travel." "No multi-mirror dimensions." "Clones are not exact duplicates." "Characters age!" (Batman started in 1939, so IF he survived till 2020 he'd be at least a hundred.) And so forth. One we didn't think of, but I'm sure would quickly add; "No re-boots!!!" As always thank you so very much for the video. Me, I grew up to be a boring accountant. But one of those friends became an artist at ILM, two went on to work at Marvel, one was a founding member of a small local company called Apple, and one became a (similar to his Navy fighter pilot dad,) a Starfighter, the Last Starfighter.

Sounds pretty limited, tbh. All you'd really need to do is stick to the standards of the universe you're in, and make sure others who work on it, do as well. Unfortunately, comic writers and editors don't bother being consistent much anymore, and rather do their own thing. It makes the universe feel meaningless, and requires a reboot to bring back some stability. Unfortunately, it's just rinse and repeat at this point.

Overall, it’s fine. Dark Crisis as nice to say the least. Joshua Williamson seems to know what he’s doing and the whole story is fun to read. Even so this is not 'my’ Crisis event. That would be Dark Nights: Death Metal. Again like it a lot and looking forward what’s gonna happen on the end.

ok now my info on the subject is limited but from what I know, 1) great darkness is actually on the same level as presence and they kinda had a deal where the darkness went into hibernation and 2) it is now awake thanks to multiple multiverses existing (there were already multiple multiverses but the perpetua and batman who laughs stuff just confirmed it and also added some more multiverses I presume, hence the whole "infinite frontier") 3)now in this we got swamp thing saying that maybe the great darkness isn't doing this but something has corrupted it, which is weird given what the darkness is and its power level but we can imagine someone using its power temporarily which might make it possible for heroes to win in this crisis 4) there have been 7 crisis before this, there was 1 where the multiverse was destroyed (before we had multiple of them) and the prescence did nothing (yes spector fought in that crisis but he did it of his own free will) He has never showed up for anything ever we only ever see him giving commands to specter and the one time he met his son lucifer and maybe referenced here or there So nope it isn't doing anything 5) Actually when he met his son lucifer, he explained the reason the multiverse exists is so that he can give his creations a place where they have free will!! specifically beyond his control So he can create, destroy and change the multiverse however he wants but apparently refuses to do so so that it can continue being a place out of his control, and maybe to an extent it is Hope that shed some light, thank you for reading

Grew up reading comics, and left the comic genre for almost 11 years. Wanted to get back, but this, just makes want to leave again instead, my head is spinning about which is canon and which isn't, DC is always known for its messy timeline, and digging into it is a can of worms and a different beast to tackle. There is an article titled something like "30 years in the making". Pulling something like "we already planned this for years and a true fan would no doubt spot some hidden clues" won't fucking cut it, it's sad. All is canon after Death Metal, which only confuses me, and slogging from hundreds if not more rebirth issues jumping left and right to get a full picture is enough of a hassle, with infinite frontier feels somewhat like a reboot just confuses me even more, after slowly having a little understanding then this event came, some said it's not a reboot/reset. This reboot after reboot is slowly killing my enthusiasm to get back into comics. I'm already struggling to get a grip on the entire rebirth, that went out of the window with Death Metal, was it cool? ye, doesn't mean it's not a massive headache-inducing event. But DC love them crisis to force a reboot only to later scrap it to be non-canon, but states it is canon but it's just a memory of different blablabla, because The Presence did something uuuuuu new event and crisis coming!. The next 2 crisis events, something involving the Presence going crazy, 2nd crisis later revealed that some other big bad made the Presence crazy.

I gave up after they brought in Brian Michael Bendis to DC, and when they used Scott Snyder’s Dark Knight’s Metal ideas to undermine Geoff John’s overall direction to the comic’s universe. Doomsday Clock/ and Rebirth was built up to be something massive to DC. A correction to DC’s mistakes with new 52 era and a complete fresh start to new and old comic readers like I was back in 2015/2016. But it became completely pointless the moment they introduced: Dark Knight Metal, Heroes in Crisis, DK: Death Metal, Infinite Frontier, and perhaps others I forget to included. Now we have Dark Crisis? I gave up on reading and collecting every DC issues the moment they’ve decided to break the Source Wall (in the universe) and made Rebirth completely irrelevant. There’s no coming back from that anymore, DC. After Doctor Manhattan, the bigger threat is Perpetua. And after Perpetua the bigger threat is somebody else. And so on and so forth. Why are you stretching to far DC?
