Once again I must praise you. I avoided the video game play thru videos because I used to have a very sad group of friends who would meet once a week and humourlessly play console games without talking. Usually one on one so the other 5 or 6 of us (oh yes, it was the most boring thing ever but the other non players still showed up) would just watch and I got over that right quick. But the PTSD that I carried in my very sole lo these many years is now just mild annoyance that I went at all. These have turned into my favourite vids which I never expected. Thank you for the joy you bring to my life. It is much appreciated.

I honestly don't think this game is THAT bad. It's far from perfect (obviously), and its not on the same level as Spider-Man 2 or The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. But as a movie tie in game, it could've been a lot worse.

I've talked to some of the devs that made this game. The art team had be reassigned from an EA madden game so the superman model is basically just a modified college football model. The game got massively reduced from the original vision that aimed to draw dozens of people on screen at one time instead of the handful we get. Thanks for the content!

What's sad is that this is probably the best Superman game. It has some pretty good ideas, making superman unable to die was good, after all, he's fighting for the city, not himself, it's a good way to have challenge without making Superman a weakling that some C-list villain can take down. The focus being on the protecting the city is more involving game play than just watching your own health bar. The combat is pretty neat, I like the idea of being able to fight super-villains in a destructible city, it gives you some options. Do you play it safe and slowly methodically take out your enemies, or do you cut loose and Zack-Snyder your was through battles destroying everything in your path, at expense to city health? If there's ever another Superman game, I hope it builds on this games ideas, maybe have some sort of ranking system dependent on how much collateral damage you were able to avoid in your battles, have more elaborate missions and powers to use, the foundation is here, certainly. By the way the 360 version of this game is a lot better.

I actually loved this game. The combat wasn't great, but flying around the city made for a great Superman game on its own. The game also came out on xbox 360 and looked and played a lot better than this.

I had a chance to work on this game. Back in 2005, EA Tiburon bought out the small game developer I was working for and made offers to all the current employees. I didn't like the job enough to relocate for it though, so I turned them down. I knew they had a Superman game in the works, so I was a bit tempted by that. Considering how the game turned out, I'm glad I didn't go.

5:44 that would be a pretty sweet idea for a video game. you've got a superhero type guy and as you're doing stuff, you have freedom to make the choice to do good or bad, and you wind up being either a hero or villain in the end. I know this has been done in Star Wars games. should totally work here, right? i dunno if it's been done with superheroes though. maybe it has. if it has though, i might need to check it out. maybe. or not.

I liked this game because i actually got to feel like Superman in this. Granted some mechanics like city health sucked, but bringing people to ambulances gracefully and assuring them they'll be okay made me feel like Superman. Same with the powers and flight felt the best the most. This is the game that at least had me feel like Superman unlike the other ones like Ring Simulator and The-Beat-Em-Up-Where Superman-Died.

with star wars rebels wrapping soon and last jedi on the way, maybe you could check out Republic Commando. it's definately one of the best single-player star wars games and it's well-regarded enough for the main characters to have been brought into the new Star wars canon. just if ya were looking for something that doesn't make you want to tear your eyes out.

Dunno if James was just casually riffing, but now that you mention it, Gene Hackman would make a perfect Mr Mxyzptlk… for Routh or Cavil or whoever the new guy ends up being… though I think that character could be way better utilized in a streaming show. And meaning no offense but the current Superman show doesn’t seem like it’s got the level of production value for an actor like Hackman… maybe if they’ve got a cool mil just laying about at Warner Bros and they’re looking for another high profile cameo to tack on to Flashpoint to distract from Ezra Miller’s very public breakdown?

This game had the worst side mission system. You fly the SLIGHTEST BIT close to any danger, which spawned every 50 feet, and you enter the mission. No opportunity to just have fun, and all the enemies were too tough to make you feel powerful like Superman.

I laughed when they, intentionally or not, hurt civilians. I don't play games anymore, but you know what could be cool though? A morally ambiguous guy with powers who, depending on the choices you make during the game, can become good or evil. I remember some Jedi Knight game was like this, but I'm thinking someone with Superman's power set.
