The way Ryan just hammers down the fact that Superman is entirely creepy in this movie, and literally no one has a chance to stop him is hysterical. Really getting some PG-13 Homelander vibes. "Superman can stalk ANYONE he wants!... Romantically."

I really like Superman Returns. It's a charming movie with great visuals (and music of course) and the banter between Spacey's Lex Luthor and Parker Posey's Kitty was hilarious. That "wait for it" scene is great. The island/tsunami thing is no goof. The island was still tiny and growing. If you remember Luthor's presentation, it was supposed to eat all the way into the East coast, which clearly hadn't happened yet.

Lol!!! It's always been the silliest aspect of the character for me. I was able to believe it a little with Christopher Reeves, but it didn't work at all with Cavill.

@@OnMyMindEntertainment Cavill tested that somewhat and wore a Superman shirt and walked around in front of the billboard of him as Superman and no one recognized him.

@@OnMyMindEntertainment I don’t really get how like Lois or somehow never gets it but he changes his personality a lot so maybe she thinks wow they look similar but thinks like oh it can’t be him or something I don’t know. I’d Monroe would do that like change her personality and people would start to recognize her. Maybe people just dismiss it if they can’t believe that would be him. Some have seen major celebrities they’ve followed for years and when they see them in the wild they don’t think it’s them they think it’s someone who looks like them.

I'm with you about liking the nostalgic feel of it. And I actually thought he did a great job of continuing Christopher Reeves Superman legacy. Unfortunately everything about how boring the movie is would be completely accurate. A little sad because I thought he did a great job as Superman. I know you like the current Man of steel, but I prefer Superman the way Superman is. The ultimate good guy. Literally the reason why he can't be more powerful than he is, because he is too good. Superman is far from a favorite character of mine, but I've always respected him for what he is. Which generally is a man so powerful that the only reason he ever loses is because he's not willing to kill.
@kuivia2 жыл бұрын
Which generally is a man so powerful that the only reason he ever loses is because he's not willing to kill. That's why him fighting Darkseid in JLU is so satisfying "I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard" everything he does he has to be extremely gentle

This is exactly why the snyderverse didn’t work and has to start over they forgot Superman is different than Black Adam
@IIITangentIII2 жыл бұрын
@@bobboivin1033 exactly. It's easy to say that it's cool to see a different spin on Superman, but that's also the problem. If you change what Superman is at his core, then he stops being Superman. I am quite happy with Superman being the constant good superhero of the universe. There are already plenty of other antiheroes. Even back in the 90s the Image comics "Superman" Supreme was very much that way. Been done already. Leave Superman alone.

Let's appreciate something. So in man of steel jorel puts the codex into him to rebirth krypton but when they meet in the baby factory he forgets that. So he just put the hopes of krypton into a kid and sends him to a planet to become a false Jesus in BvS? No wonder krypton fell, they never really thought things through.
@northwindkey2 жыл бұрын
He doesn’t forget it. He wanted Clark to embrace his Kryptonian side first, then make the choice of whether or not to let Kryptonians have a chance on Earth. That’s what it was about: choice. Both Jor-El and Pa Kent’s entire messages were that Clark needs to learn who he is before he can make his own choice.
@Tuberiascaesar2 жыл бұрын
@@northwindkey WHy though? He could have just had clark download the codex to the machine and then be a superperson, or maybe find a new planet away from earth so that they could start krypton anew without endangering earth. Then again I doubt bryan singer really thought much of it.
@patfer11892 жыл бұрын
@@Tuberiascaesar Clark doesn't have the means to extract anything, nor the knowledge to do it if he could. The ship on Earth had been there for centuries and not equipped for that. And the one Zod was in was also not a medical or scientific ship. From Zod's perspective he came to Earth because he was looking for Clark who had the Codex, but once he found out the ship with the Cryptonian babies there was no need to focus exclusively on the Codex. Since they were already on Earth, and the whole point of his existence was to protect his race, he begins terraforming right away. Again, Thunder described that correctly: the battle in Man of Steel is one of choice. Clark has all the choices in the world open to him, including choosing to save his adopted planet or the planet he never knew. Zod, on the other hand, doesn't have any choice because he was created for a single purpose (protecting Crypton), and thus he is confined to anything and everything related to that purpose. He can't see past that or the best course of action. If destroying Earth to create a new Crypton is the most inmediate and direct path to accomplishing his purpose and goal then so be it. There is no time to 'find other planets' or think things through: building New Crypton then and there is the fastest way of accomplishing all.
@Tuberiascaesar2 жыл бұрын
@@patfer1189 Didn't krypton have a colony or something later revealed in the comics to have survived as a plan b or something?
@northwindkey2 жыл бұрын
@@Tuberiascaesar Only Pre-Crisis continuity. MOS is based directly on John Byrne’s era comics. That’s also why he kills Zod, that moment is ripped wholesale from Byrne’s run. Only it’s actually better the way Snyder did it. Byrne had Clark execute Zod and his followers point blank like a friggin mob execution. I think Kandor might’ve been brought back at some point in the 2000s, but Nolan, Goyer, and Snyder based their story off of the Post-Crisis reinvention directly.

Actually there is a game based on the movie and it explain really well that Lex knows the superman will be a key witness in his trial so he made a rumour that kypton is still around and fine which tricked superman to leave and fly to kypton to see it’s a lie and fly back

Whether it was intentional or not, I think Ryan making this Pitch Meeting on the heels of Cavil’s Superman cancellation was pretty good, but it doesn’t top the Handcock Pitch Meeting immediately following “the slap…I don’t know if there will ever be a Pitch Meeting as good as that one. I actually thought Brandon Routh was perfect for the roll. He looks like Christopher Reeves and nailed his mannerisms. There was potential to reboot the franchise with Brandon, it’s just too bad the script was so horrible.

God Of War isn't a reboot, or atleast it isn't how you're thinking of it. I can tell because you're treating it like a reboot and like it isn't at all connected with the prior stuff, and as though said prior stuff is completely unrelated. It's almost like you didn't play it.
