They both honestly felt pretty tame. I did like ryan's "careful....." line because it implied that logic is being thrown out in order to label any criticism as anti-feminist. And that was literally half this shows problem; they tried to make every issue a man vs women issue. This show was as bigoted as your average trump rally.

@@Mike_Dubayou The other half of the problem was that the show constantly did the thing it was criticising. Think about the wedding episode. Jen goes to a friend's wedding (Though why they'd be friends is a mystery for the ages). Jen's friend is uninterested in Jen's career, and only interested in whether Jen has a boyfriend. This is a 9 episode run, 4 through 7 place the major emphasis of their plot on Jen's love life. Jen's professional life is woefully underdeveloped. She's supposed to be the head of a department yet we never see her being a boss to anyone beyond Nikki. She's working at a major law firm yet we never see her acting as a mentor to trainee lawyers. What we see her do at work is mostly goofing off or having meetings, the one time we see her doing paperwork, is in a bar which doesn't really gel with how a lawyer would be concerned about client confidentiality or potentially losing documents. She's supposed to be a former prosecutor, yet we don't see the relationships with people like the police that would come with that. Her visit to Emil Blonsky is treated like it is the first time she's visited a serious criminal - but surely she should have been doing this as part of her job as a prosecutor for years. The procedures should be old hat to her by now. So we come back to that bit in the wedding episode and yeah showrunners, why are you placing so much emphasis on her sex life when she's a lawyer at a prestigious law firm heading a department working on an exciting new field of law?

She used threats of physical violence to coerce an opposing party, who she should not have even been talking to in the absence of his representation, into acquiescing to her demands. DISBARRED! Sooooo disbarred. She is not a lawyer anymore, full stop. Law license, gone. The part where Jen's friends take Mr. Immortal as a client and then during negotiation just turn on him and start taking the opposing parties side... *DISBARRED!* Disbarred and then probably sued themselves. The whole firm would be seeing an ethics investigation over that shit. That bit they showed where Matt talks to Jen's client across the tables and asks him a question when he's not on the witness stand, in any real court the judge would shove a boot so far up his ass he'd be tasting shoe leather just for that, and he's by far the best lawyer in this show.

PM was better, though, because not only did they deal with the going meta by having the writer guy ask editor guy, etc., the meta'd the meta by having Producer Guy ask "Why did you just zone out for like 30 seconds?" For me Pitch Meeting wins this round. It did at better job at describing the very questionable choices the makers made with it. And as is almost always the case for me, Pitch Meeting was funnier. As for the show She-Hulk itself, it just sucked. Didn't make me furious like it did some people, but it did make me a bit frustrated. As they just wanted to troll men rather than make a good show. It is all just silly and childish and I really do not see the point in any of it. I think that sums up my thoughts pretty nicely. PS: It was more fun than Rings of Power, but that was not really a massive standard to beat out.

She-hulk was so bad that Ryan couldn't possibly include all the bullsh*t without making the video at least 3 times longer. The way almost all men and women were bad stereotypes and unsympathetic didn't get mentioned for example. Or that she doesn't have a character arc at all and doesn't take responsibility for anything (like property demage and assault) but demands others to take it. Or that She-hulk the supposed best female lawyer doesn't know sh*t about lawyering. Or that Wong is an idiot. Or that she catfished a guy. Or that she is a huge hypocrite by objectifying men like captain America but complains about men doing the same.

im genuinely asking this, what is likeable about Jens character in the show, from what ive seen her fourth wall breaks are just pointing out whats in the scene, she doesnt seem to have gone through a character arc, and she seems rude, not self aware, arrogant to a degree, talking down to people like the whole superheroes is for orphans thing and no sense of personal responsibility or accountability, like with the speed dating thing, she chose to swipe right on those men and from the scene of her swiping she didnt check their profile she was just swiping, yet its all played as they were the ones that ruined the dates etc even tho they were just being themselves even if theres room for them to improve themselves, im sure their account advertised who they were, or the wedding, she could have chosen not to go from what ive seen she said she wasnt even close to them yet it seemed she went specifically to be petty etc its always everyone around hers fault and life is just coming for her her choices dont seem to factor in there, just stuff like that and as for being a lawyer, from what ive seen with tocket boot guy, she just heard his story believed him and took him as a client, no research no actual lawyering to show she is a competent lawyer beyond them just saying it and the show giving her an award, so again im genuinely asking what is likeable about her character, cuz i havent watched the show, just full clips of scenes stuff like that. from what ive seen of the comics she was an introvert and hulking out gave her a different dynamic, added to her character etc im just wondering because from what ive seen she seems insufferable in the show and characters are just there to praise her.

I really am tired of men being portrayed as either submissive puppets for women or pathetic, manipulative and hateful douchebags. I'm all for better characters for women or everyone for that matter, but why do they always have to denigrate the majority of their audience to attempt to do so? Isn't that exactly what they are criticizing in the industry? How is it fine for them to do it? This show just ruined the character and they trolled everyone instead of actually improving the quality of the writing. They ironically made what they were complaining about worse. I feel like most of the people in the "writers' room" portraying themselves (sooooo clever.... ) should be reprimanded for piling onto the bad faith discourse that exists.

My bigger issue is that they don't even HAVE better characters for women. Most of these shows and movies just take the "toxic masculinity" personality and make the character female. Usually they are not good, likeable characters. They're arrogant ("I've controlled my anger infinitely more than you" she says to BRUCE BANNER of all people), petty, rude, belittling everyone else. And more often than not they are invincible, great at everything and immediately win everything. Look at any of the "strong female characters" of the last 10 years and they're practically all the exact same character portrayed by different actresses. If at the very least they HAD better characters for women at least the movies could still be fun. But most of the time they're not even that.

I gotta give it to Honest Trailers on this one. I felt like they touched more upon the outrage surrounding the show, which, unfortunately, got a lot more attention than the show itself. At least, from where I'm standing. I also think Honest Trailers' format lended itself better to talking about this particular show, with the ability to introduce other characters. Though I like the Pitch Meeting 4th wall breaks better, but I like the way that Honest Trailers didn't telegraph their 4th wall breaks as much. Honestly, a lot to like in both videos.

First of all, the Honest Trailer for the Incredibles literally edited out a scene to make it seem as if Mirage were entirely innocent when Mr. Incredible was threatening her and Honest Trailers routinely ignore an explanation that the movie they’re mocking actually provides for the sake of a joke. They call themselves honest trailers as a nod to their premise, that if movie trailers were honest then they would bash the movies they advertise, but not actually about being honest. And insinuating that people who were strongly critical of She-Hulk should just be written off as “hateful” is just unfair and mean-spirited for no larger purpose.

She seems to be aware of certain characters and plot points that have happened prior to her series, but she is not aware of plot points that are yet to happen or ones that she was not present for. Unlike Deadpool who possesses an awareness that he is a fictional character existing within a film franchise. This ability penetrates deeper into the real world than She-Hulk, who is only able to access a lesser version of reality that mirrors the real world. The irony of Ace Attorney being mentioned in that honest trailer is that, as a die hard Ace Attorney fan, it is still more sophisticated and genius than this. It has a unique blend of comedy and tragedy, so there are actually good storylines and some amazing characters, and the camp fun stuff works as both a gag and leaning into this idea that the entire legal system is a joke. I don't know WHAT She-Hulk was trying to do there

The reason Jen can control herself isn’t that she’s a woman. The MCU is too scared to go into the actual reason: Bruce only struggles with his anger because he was abused as a child. The Hulk existed before the gamma as an angry personality in Bruce. Jen doesn’t have DID like Bruce does, so she has no control issues.
