@@N1c0T1n3__ I think the idea is to avoid shooting another person through someone in a civilian situation, while it's not a concern in an active war zone. That being said, it's still stupid, as the reason it's banned in military use (IIRC) is to make it more likely that the shot person can recover. That sounds very much preferable for civilian use.

@@N1c0T1n3__ self-defense is focused on fully incapacitating the target as fast as possible, warfare should be focused on taking the enemy out of combat with the minimum amount of harm done. HP bullets are also less likely to go trough the target, so they're also good for avoiding collateral damage. Some things that are illegal in wars shouldn't be illegal against civilians. Like tear gas for example, riot control units have had way less causalities since they started using it.

Obviously, Superman's feet. Never fear a Lego block again. Never stub your toe going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Just a little flex of your toes and you can dunk a basketball. You'd have to be careful at first and move deliberately slowly so that your feet don't write checks that the rest of your body can't cash, but it seems pretty practical.

Not sure about anyone else but the novelty of seeing a couple English blokes in some quarry in redneck land shooting hollow points at an imitation bulletproof steel eyeball in order to imitate an effect in a terrible 20 year old movie about a guy with bulletproof eyeballs among other things is precisely the kind of hard hitting scientific inquiry I signed up for. I mean some, most in fact, might have an altogether different and/or perhaps somewhat more pithy choice of words to describe such activities but to each their own. Good times.

Therefore mass/mass = velocity/velocity (that is, the ratio of bullet mass/gun mass = ratio of recoil-velocity vs of muzzle-velocity.) If the hollow-point projectile masses 8 grams, and the gun masses 800 grams, and the muzzle-velocity is 1200fps, the recoil velocity will be 12fps (about 13kmh.) What's crazy is that when you are firing the gun, that measly 13kmh recoil feels like an instant "thump".
