That’s my only worry, seems like they’re jamming a ton of different action scenes against different threats into a single movie. I don’t think James Gunn is dumb enough to throw too many main villains into the movie though, he hasn’t done that in his last few superhero films and they’ve been insanely popular. What I predict is happening here, is he’s leaning into the crazy weird mythos and rogues gallery Superman has, it’s obvious they’re not doing a “origin story” in this movie, so I think they’re just gonna start off with big time supervillains and comic book situations, instead of the more realistic superhero stuff we’ve gotten recently. Just a prediction, I’m pretty worried about that too, but I’m confident they’re just gonna have Superman dealing with strange comic book threats in his downtime, while they mostly flesh out Lex Luthor as he sends maybe 1 or 2 villains for hire after him, and then end off with a single big time threat Lex creates/hires to kill Superman. That final big time supervillain will break out of Lex’s control or stop listening to him, attack him, and go rogue for the final battle. And throughout the movie they’ll probably have him already started at the Daily Planet and just build the Lois Clark relationship.

THe part they did not get in the Snyderverse was the sacrifice. THe shot where he saves the girl and the boy with the flag. THAT is who SM is in the comics. He takes the pain and damage to protect those less fortunate. He is not Mr. Badass. He never acts like Mr. Badass despite being the strongest, best kid in the room. In the Snyderverse he was just the big-heavy. He was just the badass. They only mention hope in his emblem. In the comics he is hope personified. That is the difference between the Snyder version (good!) and this Gunn version so far (great!!). It's the personification of hope.
