The trailer brought a tear to my eye. Especially when Krypto made his appearance. My perspective on Superman since I’m 70 goes much further back than your kids and I’m guessing most kids. When life was simpler and the multitude of what kids consider popular and mainstream today didn’t exist. I think a lot of younger kids have probably heard of Superman but his widespread popularity isn’t what it was extending from the 1930’s through the 1990’s. The current state of pop culture has been watered down so much and spread thin with garbage, disposable icons that a Superman isn’t as eye opening and special as he once was. Sadly that’s probably true. My childhood was filled with Silver Age comics and Krypto was always there. One other thing I wanted to mention when you made the comment about Lex Luthor needing to be older. One of the things I read is that James Gunn wanted the feeling of this movie to harken back to the Silver Age. And Lex originally was the same age of Superman going back to his school days in Smallville. It was an experiment gone bad that caused the loss of Lex’s hair which he blamed on Superboy. Just saying..

I have a 2 1/2 year old son and Superman is his favorite anything. I like that this looks like a movie I could take him to see. Hopefully it will be just a good Superman movie. One that younger kids and adults can go and have a good time at. Isn’t that what movies are about? Isn’t that what comics are about? Wasn’t that what Donner/Reeves’ Superman was as about? Burton’s Batman? Maybe not. Just saying.

I think the reaction to this trailer depends on one's starting point. I was exceedingly skeptical about James Gunn's directorial range because I've not seen him do anything outside of his super snarky, hyper sarcastic, cynical antihero stuff. But after this teaser, I'm still skeptically optimistic, but there's just a little more optimism and a little less skepticism now. It was enough to at least get me looking forward to the next trailer.

My problem with the teaser is that it didn’t provide any hint of a story. What do the characters want, what’s at stake, why are they in conflict? It was just a collection of images, which might pique the interest of some hardcore DC fans, but gives normies nothing to sink their teeth into. I hope a proper trailer has a little more meat on the bone. I’ve been reading Dandadan. That book is wild, bro!

I think this is gonna be a billion dollar box office movie. This trailer does a few really great things: 1. Shows Superman beaten bloody, showing that he will be challenged in this film. 2. Shows Krypto, which indicates how absolutely wild the DCU is gonna get. If they can have Krypto, they can do anything. I can't wait to see characters like Gorilla Grodd and Detective Chimp in the DCU. 3. They made Guy Gardner look like a real dickhead. He's perfect!

After seeing the new trailer (presumably this one), he sold a bunch of his WB stock. Take that with a few grains of salt. Also on Twitter, I love how all the complaints about Snyder's films were being echoed for this trailer by Snyder fans. "Why is he fighting in the city?" "Why isn't he smiling?" "What's with the slow-mo?" As for Krypto, at least he's better than what they did in Smallville.

I like that the movie looks is in "comic book style" with bright colors, etc. But there's a fine line to tread where that doesn't work and it gets silly looking. Fingers crossed. I would like the superhero genre to continue but the offerings need to be better planned and spaced out compared to the way it's been these last few years. Lots of pressure on Gunn to deliver. I really like the trailer. Look at Daily Planet in Trailer and look daily planet in Synderverse. While you say it looks cheap, the movie does have more a budget than CW, that’s for sure. 3:15 Depends on the age. Is this their first time being exposed to Superman they must be less than 5 years old. 3:27 You Still won’t talk about Scholastic deals won’t you, perch. Lot of all ages comics is going to get ignored if they get the scholastic deal. 3:46 Including Animation? Wonder Woman doesn’t have her own animated series. Harley Quinn got her own animated series before Wonder Woman. That is f-ing crime and a reason to hate Batman entirely. Also you know about in creature commandos, Circe got beaten by Weasel? Weasel! Circe can use her magic to make Weasel human and she would definitely win. Come on, James Gunn. Also that Wonder Woman video game there is news that no one was working on it for 3 years. If this doesn’t motivate to read Wonder Woman comic to make a great adaptation I don’t know what is. 4:24 I see a lot of people commenting on Guy Garner’s haircut. We are truly back. 5:33 I assume you have low sense of haircut style. 6:13 If Lex is not young there won’t be sequels. Come on, Perch. James Gunn cast an old guy to be Hal Jordan. I don’t Hal won’t be the main protagonist, it most likely John Stewart. You think James Gunn will adapted John Stewart stories from the comic for once? Not giving John either Hal of Kyle Rayner stories? 6:44 It is Agent 47. 7:16 Well they lack common sense. Really Perch? Mr Terrific has a name. We should talk about golden age Mr Terrific and current one. How the current Mr. Terrific is more popular than the golden age one 7:30 Yes. It is overdone to death. But you still talk it anyway. You did talk MCU Wonder Man. And even if there are original black characters on screen like Blue Marvel, they people still complain. Heck people complain about the actor playing John Stewart is too light skinned to play John Stewart. Does that matter? The actor is still black. Remember you made a video about someone saying Storm Mohawk looks manly in x men 97 7:34 Or having a female lead character. Oh my god it Girlboss movie. Jeez Like does anyone want to have fun and escapism anymore? No? You want attention like a desperate attention seeking B!t¢h? 8:16 Tell me about it. If notice someone purposely making up lies I just loose respect for you and not talk you seriously. Those type of people will never use their common sense. 8:32 If I see someone say this product hurt my feeling I won’t take you seriously. 9:42 no no one is going to die on that. I didn’t thought about Jon Kent Sr until you brought it up. He does look like grandpa rather than a dad. Jon Kent Sr. Has gray hair but still looks like he is in his 40s I do hope This version of Jon Kent Sr, will give Superman best advice. Not like how Zack Snyder wrote Jon Kent Sr. And Internet did the right thing to point how Snyder’s Jon Kent Sr is horribly written. You the mean Solaris, the Alien Sun? Well it is Solaris’ second appearance on screen, that makes Grant Morrison happy. And if want a Superman fight a Kaiju read *Justice League vs Godzilla vs King Kong* Superman Lost to Godzilla. Hahaha. How about you talk about Obscure Superman villain that should be in adaptations. Do if Perch. Show us how much of Superman fan you are. 11:13 Creature Commandos is launch of James Gunn’s DC universe, you simpleton. I am in.

The suit is weird because it’s basically New 52 with trunks and the Kingdom Come S just with yellow instead of black background. They seem to be doing New 52 with Clark’s look to which kinda makes him look like Tony Khan (head honcho of All Elite Wrestling for those not familiar with pro-wrestling shenanigans.) I’m kinda with Perch in the sense I was neither amazed nor filled with dread. Not sure I trust James Gunn with this and the fact that Tom King is in the DCU orbit does not help with that.

It still doesnt make sense for a verse targted at the general audience to not go for a introduction arc. Pretty much DC lore has been established. Lex took over a land already and already has hated Superman for years. Hereos are already employed by Maxwell Lord. Multiple Green Lanterns protect Earth. Lois and Clark might as well be married. Lex can clone Clark from the get go. Then theres Creatures Commando. Theres no anticipation to see things unfold when we start with a 30 something year old Superman

I think you would appreciate the Retroblasting take on the trailer... essentially, Superman (comics and assorted media) has stopped trying to appeal to 6 to 12 year olds (its original target demographic) in favour of chasing Gex X dollars and by doing so can't really get the heart of a Superman movie right. If they've missed the mark with your kids, then they may very well have done it again, to the character's detriment.
@drewtheunspoken398811 сағат бұрын
My kids loved the animated Spider-Man movies as well as the Deadpool movies. They also enjoyed the live-action Spider-Man films and have been entertained by other superhero movies but can take them or leave them. They've only expressed mild interest in this Superman movie but have both decided they'll wait until it's on streaming to see it. These are the same 2 kids who were excited to see the 1989 Batman movie in a theater just a couple of months ago. As for me? It just sounds crowded and the inclusion of Krypto felt cynical to me. An easy win because audiences like dogs. I really hope this movie is good but the trailer hasn't made me all that interested in seeing it. I'm hoping a second trailer will change my mind, but I'm doubting it.

At least it's not the official Harley Quinn scratch-and-sniff fart fetish comic from the writer of the recent Fire and Ice comic! I am just done with superhero universe movies in general, so this doesn't move the needle for me. I am also skeptical that the DCU will magically become a hit because Snyder was removed. Chasing out the white whale who "ruined the franchise" worked wonders for Star Wars! Additionally, Snyder may be gone, but what about the people who hired him? For a movie that people hype up for being "not Snyder," it sure feels a lot like Man of Steel. This isn't to say I think Snyder's direction was a good fit - personally, I wanted a universe with a different tone from the MCU's increasingly snarky and flippant tone, but he went too far into grimdark and edgy - but "anyone but Snyder!" is not a smart way to approach fixing these movies - again, Star Wars. And Clark Kent has Tony Khan's haircut, cue Aaron accusing Superman of secretly being Snowflame.
