This trailer made me tear up. Seeing that kid raising the Superman flag during a war and Superman saving that girl was just magical, and it got me very excited about the hope this movie can give audiences, especially with all the things going on in the world today.

The robot is Superman’s assistant in the Fortress of solitude. You’ll notice they are in the fortress and you’ll notice that the robot has a blue cape.

So James Gunn has said that thir movie isn't like year 1 or 2 Superman, this is more lived in time. He's been around for a while, my guess probably around 5 years or so. Thats why we see all of these characters.

Someone explained it well, James Gunn gave us like 2 and a half pieces of media (suicide squad, peacemaker and creature commandos) where the "heroes" are not exactly likeable, so that when superman shows up in this world, people see who a real hero is.

Even if you dont count BVS as a loss…2017’s Justice League was a travesty that they never recovered from. ZSJL came too late that it couldnt recover… too many decisions were made reactionary, and so many cuts and moves were being made because of corporate decisions. DC is FINALLY it’s own studio.

James Gunn hasn’t let me down with his comic book projects and this looks amazing and emotional. I can’t wait. I’m happy we have a new Superman. Cavill was so wooden and emotionless and those movies stunk and were miserable imo. No hate to anyone who liked them but I’m glad we moved on.

I don’t think it’s that he’s still learning, I think it’s more of modern Superman, he’s not really as invincible as he used to be in comics. He’s been Superman for a period of time at the start of the movie, saying he’s learning is just underselling who he’s fighting.

Y’all should definitely react to Superman 1&2 with Christopher Reeve. It’s worth a watch, he’s my favorite Superman, Cavill comes second for me. I think Zach would like them also, it has a great cast with Gene Hackman, Terrence Stamp, and Brando.

It's sad that Cavill couldn't play Superman for very long because of all the chaos going on at DC, especially because he seems like a great guy who really cares about the roles he takes and the source material of them, but David looks like he's going to be a great Superman too, and here's hoping Cavill can get a role as somebody else in this new DC universe

There’s was like 12, not a hundred zillion. The serials weren’t real shows, and most of the time were still comic images over narration. Batman and Robin in the sixties is considered the first successful comic book project in another medium

I've always loved Superman and I grew up watching the great Smallville too....which is absolutely in need of a rewatch. I was angry with what they did with Henry Cavill. He was absolutely perfect in that role, in my opinion. I do have a little faith in this movie. The trailer looked decent, and I believe in James Gunn. The dudes work in the mcu has been some of my favourite "superhero" movies. I look forward to watching this for sure

This looks very good and I am exited about this movie and this universe. I think DCEU became a mess and it's good they are doing fresh take. I trust James Gunn more with making big universe than The Rock. About Smallville, I've seen quite a few episode when Sam Witwer was there and I liked it but I haven't seen all of it. Intro and music of Smallville is phenomenal though.

Gunn confirmed that this world or the new DC universe already has superheroes before Superman. The superheroes that you mentioned are Nathan Fillon as Guy Gardner, aka The Green Lantern, but for me, Guy is something of a douchebag, Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific is a badass genius that has technology on his hands, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, NoHo Hank actor Anthony Carrigan as the weird old pale face alien looking thing is Rex Mason aka Metamorpho aka The Element Man. The villains are Lex Luthor, Angela Spica aka The Engineer who has nanotechnology in her body that can manipulate other technology. Just say she's the T- 1000 mix with Vin Diesel's Bloodshot and Royal Pain in Sky High, and the black suit guy maybe or possibly Ultraman.

Also I really wish someone would cast Henry Cavill in a new series of movies of The Saint, based around the Roger Moore TV series version (an adaptation of the Leslie Charteris books) and not the disappointing Val Kilmer movie.
