That future predicting machine raises so many questions. If Superman was told he would destroy his son, couldn’t he have just kept that in mind and not done it? Years later, at a retail job, an aggressive nerd/hipster was arguing that Batman doesn't kill. I timidly tries to confront him with my old school knowledge from the library, and he turned on me like: "Yeah?! You get that off the internet!?' No!! I said, and meant it, but couldn't explain it, because he was too aggressive. I couldn't explain how Batman killed early on in the original serials, and how Batman slowly through the comics became who he was. The guy sucked, and was accusing me out of projection.

The relatively more recent New Teen Titans #2 has its cover showing all the Titans being dead. Except no they're not, that was a mental image that Raven projected into a dying man's mind so that he could have peace in his final moments thinking that he completed his mission of killing the Titans. I’ll never forget how ripped off I felt after paying for a Donny Cates Venom comic that featured the necrosword on the cover just to find out that the sword had literally no appearance in the issue, and was only on the cover to look cool. I didn't even realize I've seen this before, I was born in 90 and didn't get to read a lot of comics, but I remember seeing weird comic covers and being like "wtf is this, a prank?" Now I realize it literally was a prank, just to lure people into reading it to see wtf was going on. Sadly I never had money for comics so I mostly only saw the covers.
