My flight of the final release version of the new Supermarine Spitfire from Flying Iron Simulations. I go through the checklist for improved manual engine start procedure and point out they key changes. This aircraft was released on Friday 5th March 2021 on the Flying Iron Simulations website at flyingironsimu.... It will be available through MSFS Marketplace a few weeks later.

You flying better that i did.Felt like I was flying a brick.Trim was all over the place.Wouldn't lose speed on approach.Put down flaps and it wanted to summersault.Bloody tricky.But does look absolutely Beautiful!!

Perhaps youve already noticed, but the main battery button doesn't need to be searched for and pressed. Advance throttle 50% or so and it knocks it on, then simply return it to idle. Enjoying this thing !

Hi, In the cruise drop your prop rpm to around 2450 and maintain 4 psi boost, this will still give you around 230 mph and save fuel & the engine! Prop full forward is fine.

When you touch down, put the flaps up, and apply brake to really slow it down as quickly as possible. Hold in full up elevator while you are braking to prevent it pitching forward.

Look at your Graphics options under General Settings. Need to run at Ultra level for best visuals.

@@EssentialRC I just clicked on reset default in general settings and it's fine now ☺ lol. So I'm not even sure what it was? Edit. It was the zoom! It stretched it all out into a weird wide angle distorted mess! Lol

How do you get these models Dom? Is there a marketplace tab inside the sim? Im thinking of getting it through Steam, I want to join in the Livestream flights.

Yes. Marketplace in the sim for buying add on aircraft and airports...but this is only available from the Developer at the moment. Just buy it from them and unzip it into your MSFS 'community' folder.

having trouble taking off and after landing. plane veers to the left terribly and right rudder does not correct, any advice. i use a yoke system not a joystick.

Slowly increase the throttle, once the tail lifts get ready and full right rudder with a touch of right aileron to counter the roll. Practice, practice, practice 😉

What is the key binding for primer lock/unlock? Just bought it and trying to do cold start, but no matter what I do it just doesn't work! I tought it was cockpit interaction of something like that, but all it does is zoom in zoom out. No idea what I'm doing wrong here.

I think I do it by using scroll wheel on my mouse when hovering over it.

@@EssentialRC OK I got it. It seems that the July 2021 Update for MSFS introduced a new interaction system, which temporarily broke some of the cockpit controls. It will be fixed for the Marketplace costumer in the near future. It takes some time for Microsoft to accept & publish updates for MS Marketplace users As a workaround in the meantime for Marketplace customers, we can revert back to the pre-update interaction system by changing your interaction system to 'Legacy' in accessibility settings. My bad. I'm fairly new to MSFS so I didn't know that.

id say after about 10 minutes of flying the spitfire my engine will cut off or throttle will be super low, something happens where my power cuts out and i can't throttle up anymore. What is that and how do I stop it from happening?

Maybe running out of fuel or the engine over heating.

I accidentally locked mine, and can't unlock it. I emailed the developers, and they said to use the mouse scroll wheel, which doesn't work for me. So, I assigned a key to it, and now my "locked" primer works, but it's still locked.

every time i try to go above 13000 feet, the engine loses all power, then i have to glide back down with the engine barely idling 😫

@@EssentialRC finally found out i had to turn the fuel pressure knob from off to on. weird that it works with it set to off up to 13000 feet

@@EssentialRC i think the fuel tank itself might be pressurized at high altitudes to stop the fuel from boiling off and i was at high altitude with an unpressurized fuel tank
