We went to the closest supermarket that we could find. There are bigger ones in India but this is still pretty much in die countryside in Kerala. How much do groceries cost? Will they just let me film? Let's check out my vlog.
Please don't skip the adds as this is what keeps us running, give the video a like and maybe even a comment if it is not too much to ask for as it then will be more present in todays youtube algorithm.
In case you want to make a contribution feel free to sent us something on paypal: moonshine.lemongrass@yahoo.com.
Or else there is a patreon site:

We do appreciate any donation as it does make a big difference.

Interesting auto rickshaw ride but it's a bit tight for a family of 5. Anyway, it's okay afterall. Quite a big supermarket with a wide selection...not bad. Yeah, some of the products especially the tomatoes and cucumbers are cheap. Good that you are allow to film. Thanks for showing and sharing your groceries shopping at Kunni Hypermarket.

Amazed at how people are so chatty and respectful. That is a healthy lifestyle. I find that people here can be pretty disrespectful especially when you have to go to a public hospital and even staff can be disrespectful if they have to go out of their way and give you directions or guidance. My husband was in hospital and walked into the cafeteria and asked the waitress if he could order a coffee and that since he did not have his wallet, could he pay when his wife returned. The Asian girl immediately wanted you help but the European boss told her No. See the difference in society. It is up in your face _ rudeness and suspiciousness

Cannot compare prices of some commodities in different countries across the world. We, Indians have a tendency to convert the price in dollars (when we visit our children working in North America) into Indian Rupees and worry how expensive it is there. For example, one small pack of curry leaves which costs around five to six rupees in India costs about two US dollars in America, that means, more than one hundred sixty rupees (as per prevailing exchange rate). Our children say don't compare like that and if you want take it, or leave it. After so much calculation and loud thinking, we opt for not buying it at that cost. 😊

@yvesthesleeve next time, show us too. I think you are talking about mustard oil, but I could be wrong. And mustard oil is perfectly edible. It just needs to be heated past its smoking point. But many westerners like consuming everything cold or straight out of the box. Indians don't trust anything that is cold. So you DO NOT have to heat Pasteurized milk, but no Indian would trust anything that is not hot! Which is why we heat it again. You don't have to, as long as you finish it in a day or two. Because in the Indian heat, nothing lasts long, even when refrigerated.
