They can't take it when told they're the problem and need to change. As far as they're concerned they're always right and their kids are the problem. Many parents are like that. They decided to have kids and thought it would be all peaches and cream and everything would be perfect. Then they find out how wrong they were and think of their kids as someone they can give up on when they're not satisfied and wouldn't dare put in any effort or admit their laziness is the reason they can't control their behaviour.
