I always thought that pushing people away is one of Dean's defense mechanism......you know..to spare himself the pain of something bad happening to his near and dear ones. It's both sad and annoying as hell. But here I think it's more of Jack "the Satan's spawn" reminding him of cas with his odd quirks and the reason behind him dying in the first place that causes Dean to lash out against him.

Yup, Dean is definitely thinking about Cas while also being pissed because he thinks it's Jack's fault Cas is dead.

It's definitely one of Dean's more infamous traits, when bad shit happens he needs something to focus his rage on. And since poor Jack is unfortunately his only available target right now, meaning Dean can't just outright kill him without majorly pissing Sam off, Dean has to resort to being an absolute twat to Jack.

Jack is EXACTLY like S4 and S5 Cas. The parallels are inevitable. It's like the writers were like ok, we get it you're mad we killed Cas but here's another cute character who's his son, and acts exactly like fetus cas to make you forget that he's technically Satan's son and the reason your favorite character is dead. Ok enjoy! Like the cartoon watching, not understanding references, taking things very literally, (also hating himself) and just overall being very adorable. It's all Cas. Doesn't help that Alex looks exactly like Misha either. 🥺

I've caught up with your reactions- hooray! I discovered your SPN stuff recently and have been really enjoying rewatching the series through your eyes (I've been obsessed since the end of Season 2 aired, me'self) One of my favourite things is when you tell yourself someone or other isn't dead as there are 3 more seasons left! I differ on some pf my supporting character likes and dislikes somewhat, but I'm another Dean girl who also adores Sam ;) Looking forward to the next reaction :)

You are referring to the Daeva, the shadow demon from that episode in season 1. I believe it was episdoe 17. These demons that Asmodeus is talking about are called Shedim. I don't see the reference here if that is what you are trying to make. The Daeva were seen only once in the whole series up until this point. So maybe, time will tell, it qualifies under a certain category within the show itself, but not necessarily as those being the same sort of demon. Just some random thoughts.

Remember when Sam call cas "it" in S11 and that piss off Dean so much, but now, well I know why he did it but still.... He's adorable you know so how could you hate him 😂

That was very different though. Sam just meant Cas's vessel and Dean took it personally because Cas's vessel was Cas itself and he couldn't risk losing it. But here, Dean calls Jack it because he really does see him as an "it", a monster that needs to be dealt with.

@@anandiganguly3086 Right. Sam was definitely referring to Cas' vessel, not Castiel as a being. (Having been possessed a few times himself, Sam understands that distinction quite intimately regarding the difference between a vessel and something that's possessing it.) But Dean tends to see Cas AS his vessel.
