I love that though this seems like such a random episode on the first watching and seems so crazy, this is one of the episodes that, especially in the long run, will turn out to be one that really give the show such character. The comedic and meta episodes are in so many ways such a huge reveal on what the show really is. Not to mention that a lot of those episodes introduce characters or concepts that will turn out to be really important and they do so in a pretty sneaky manner, because it often seems like they are there just for a laugh. I can't wait for you to react to the episodes where everything really comes together and start making a lot more sense as a part of the "bigger picture" :D.

You will tend to find a crazy like episode every season now that never really seem to fit but in reflection will become your favourites for character explorations/introductions/hidden Easter eggs or just plain crazy meta madness. Yeah, the thing with Supernatural is that the writers are literal Satan and love to make us suffer. But then they decide that we need our hearts because otherwise they have nothing else to break, so they make episodes like this where it is hilarious and all we do is laugh. It is nice to have episodes like this though, because honestly this show breaks everyone's hearts! Hahaha

Love your reactions. They are amazing. Season 2 is my 3rd favourite Season with Season 11 and 5 being my other favourites. Supernatural is great even in its later years. I cannot wait for your reaction to Episode 20 this Season. It is my favourite episode of the entire series except maybe for Season 5 Episode 22, pretty hard to choose for me. Keep rocking on.

Well, that was weird. I was all excited when I saw you'd put up your reaction for Tall Tales and then.... You're the first person I've seen who doesn't really get this episode, which is a fan favourite. Every now and again you will see SPN do something incredibly creative either in the context of the main plot or as a MOTW type. I laughed myself sick the first time I watched this. Slow dancing alien!!! 😂😂😂 I think you got rather too caught up in trying to work out what was going on instead of letting it play itself out. Oh, and Happy New Year!

I think she understood this episode far better than she got the Bank robbery one. she was lost/confused throughout that whole episode. Which is one of my favorites btw lol. When I said ‘I don’t get it’ it was more of shock at how random the episode was, so different from what hey usually do. Caught me off guard but in a good way.

And your rating also led me to think it hadn't really drawn you in - anything below a 9 for this episode for me is just plain ???? Happy New Year!!!! I see you were initially a little thrown as well about the atmosphere change in this ep, takes me back to that initial confusion I had then too. I remember laughing so hard at the unexpected randomness of the blah blah blah tho. I never recovered so by the time Sam hugged that guy and said he was too precious for this world I was in tears with laughter. How much candy/pretzel/whatever that was can Jensen freaking fit into his mouth? The actors clearly had a blast filming this, their brotherly fight scene looked real. So random, so great. Prob why there are so many memes, gifs etc from this show. So Dean remembered kissing the girl but Sam didn't, if I remember right, I have to rewatch to be sure. (Btw it must have been so hard trying to say those lines to Jensen about how good he looks while looking into those eyes...that was one lucky actress, my fav Dean kiss right there.) But I love that the writers snuck it in as Dean acknowledging his looks in his imagination only, in Sam's perspective none of that even happened! Sam does not think Dean is smooth with the ladies and Dean thinks Sam is too sappy in their interviews. The opposite to how each brother sees himself. Great way to show us how the brothers see each other and themselves and introduce a new character as well as solidify Bobbys role. And my rant is over. Can't wait for more, it's going to be a great year!

part limer - In case you don't already know, Jensen actually answered the question about how many caramels he had in his mouth. It's even on video, where he talks about that scene and answers lots of other questions for Season 2 and such. This was at the first convention in Chicago back in 2007. The first year they did Supernatural Conventions. But it would be spoilery to share the video or go into more detail, since it was done while they were filming season 3.

Part Limer - I have a link to that video of his session at the 2007 Chicago Convention. Potential SPOILER: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWPPi6WKarifg7s. The caramel scene in Tall Tales is actually the first question he is asked, so you can watch just that part if you are worried about spoilers. There may be a little bit of spoiler material for following episodes in Season 2. There is DEFINITELY big Season 2 finale Spoiler at around the 11:34 point! I don't think there is for Season 3 in Jensen's session. This is basically the entire session with Jensen, minus a tiny bit at the beginning with a video. Any other videos that KZbin has from that convention should be assumed to have Season 2 spoilers and likely at least a bit from Season 3. So be forewarned. It's really interesting to see the difference in their sessions from the early days to current conventions. Jensen has definitely gotten more comfortable. He used to be so nervous and more constrained, but the acceptance and love from the fans - and I think Jared's influence - have helped loosen him up and get more comfortable in front of hordes of avid fans.

I’m late to this, but I only found this channel a week ago. So I’m binging through now. Since no one wrote this in the comments that I saw, I’ll mention that this episode is a bit of an homage to the movie Rashomon and The Rashomon Effect. Explanation from google: “The Rashomon effect occurs when the same event is given contradictory interpretations by different individuals involved. The effect is named after Akira Kurosawa's 1950 film Rashomon, in which a murder is described in four mutually contradictory ways by its four witnesses.” You see it mostly in the scene where Dean drinks with the girl, since they both “tell” that part of the story and it’s shown differently. After that you know that every time one of their personality traits is shown super exaggerated it’s because the other is telling the story. The movie He Said, She Said did a similar thing, but showed several scenes twice from two peoples perspectives. I’m sure they didn’t want the episode to get too repetitive, so only did the one scene twice. I like that Supernatural frequently does these little nods to different movies. Like there’s an episode with a Quentin Tarantino vibe, and Regarding Dean has a few similarities to the movie Regarding Henry. There’s more, but I don’t want to be spoilery.

Now that was a video I had to watch again and again and again ... and again and again and again ... and then one more time. (Seriously, I watched it seven times in a row, just to be able to make this comment. 😁) You know that you're watching a particularly weird episode, when Dean and Sam are also at a loss of words: "What the hell?" - "I don't know." - "No, seriously, what the hell?"😁 Apart from the main antogonist and their subordinates, the trickster is the first "monster" who escaped unharmed. (Well, some Vampires also got away, but back then, the Winchesters just let them go.) With the ending scene, the authors obviously wanted to have the option to use the trickster again. It would be a shame if they don't.

Happy New Year to all. First may I say Dakara you are very beautiful in this reaction. Your reactions are also priceless. I loved this episode because it shows a couple things. 1. Our boys spend so much time together that there are bound to be fights and petty disagreements, 2. The boys see each other in a way they themselves do not see themselves. Seems small but it is an insight into how they view the rest of the world. and 3. the writers are genius in this series.

I had a nice, quiet and relaxing holiday and new year. My life is boring. LOL My family lives 3000 miles away and I didn't go to visit them this year. Hey, one more of my many thoughts on this episode. Too many. A bit of a quirky thought - I always want to put a good spin on Dean's many - um - character "flaws???". So, in the bar his version was showing that he sees the "Inner Beauty" of women. He Really does like them, ya know? And appreciate them. On many levels. LOL!! Sorry, just has to add that bit. One of the first eps that you are thinking what's wrong with the writers.Having watched all seasons,I came to the conclusion that the are smoking weed when they write the funny eps of every season.You just can't imagine the stuff that they are pulling on future seasons in these eps.Now its time for the awesomeness of the two part finale.Dont try and make two videos because the cliffhanger on the first part is way TOO strong judging by your previous reaction to the last cliffhanger.One longer vid would be the best choice for this.This is the ep that jumpstarts the show.Fasten your seatbelt because its gonna be a bumpy ride.
