I love Crowley so much. The supporting characters of this show are great. This was a good episode if only because Crowley is amazing and we get to see that Sam has been manipulated for longer than we even knew. Can’t wait for the next episode though!

one of my favourite Sam scenes in that fight in the later seasons where the demon comes to him who wants to be the new king of hell and Sam kicks ass and says there will be no new king of hell. that gets me every damn time. Love when Sam or Dean get those moments to shine.

The thing with Crowley is he will always serve himself. As long as he is getting something out of it, then you can help him or accept his help. But you always need to keep your eyes open.

So no working with Crowley is way different than working with Ruby. For started despite the slash fics they aren't sleeping with Crowly so their judgment isn't being clouded. Second Crowly is completely upfront with them, no they can't fully trust him and he tells him as much and he won't always help them but he will give them what they need. And third them working with Crowly doesn't mean they have to anything to drag them down like drink demon blood or use powers they don't understand. Also it's the end of the world they need all the help they can get.

With Crowley he lets you know his motives right off and they never really change much. hes looking out for number one and thats that. So knowing that makes a big difference compared to Ruby that was working Sam and lying about why she was helping them the whole time.

Man I LOVE Crowley, I get escorted every time he is on screen. He’s such a well written, funny, but still horribly evil sometimes. The fun of this character is you truly never know where he is on that spectrum. He could be wildly helpful and seemly allied with Sam and Dean one episode, then the next turn around and just completely backstab everyone for his own interests the next. He has some of the best lines any villains/ monster on Supernatural ever. There’s a reason he’s a fan favorite. He really evolves into something quite unexpected as the seasons go on and I’m excited to see your reaction to that.

Did you notice one of he patients in the waiting room was the cashier from the gas station from the end of the last episode. Even though he's a demon, I like Crowley. His line about "let's just say when they're getting their Grammy's, they shouldn't all be thanking God." He's got great lines!

Thus begins the Crowley/Dean bromance.... One thing to know about Crowley - he's always on HIS side. If it means working with the Winchesters, so be it. If it means working against them, that too. BTW he can control more than one Hellhound. There's a few that only respond to Lucifer, but because he's the King of the Crossroads, he controls the large part of the pack. And he has the best lines..."They ate my tailor!"

the best thing about Crowley is he is honest about his motives. He is looking after number one and will do whatever he needs to save his own ass. okay that was second best since number one is his quips and snark. love that demon. also this is where Sam gets the nickname Moose which has become a thing in the fandom. Jensen even bought Jared a moose shirt at a convention a couple years ago to wear on stage.

Crowley is so fun. You know he's a demon and you SHOULD NOT trust him, and yet... you kind of do anyway. He's just so weirdly charming, you can't help but want to believe him.

So the stuff with Brady I believe had a greater impact on Sam as character that no one really talks about. SPOILERS below I think the fact that Sam's friend got possessed because of him and Sam didn't know, plus Jess being also set up to die and Ruby's betrayal made it hard for Sam to form friendships and relationships with other people. Sure Sam is friendly with people, good natured and polite but we don't see many scenes of him bounding with them or opening up to them. I think that's because he's scared they'll get hurt if they get to close or scared they'll hurt him if gets to close. That was always my head canon for it anyway.

Lucifer is NOT a demon, so that Bobby was able to take control from the demon is entirely different from taking control of an Angel. And why does Lucifer's vessel need demon blood to contain him, but Michael's vessel does not? Angels are Angels.
