Jared really did a great job playing soulless sam

This episode exist for 2 reasons. First to get Soulless Sam fans to hate him (The writers clearly underestimated how good Jarred would be soulless) so they would get onboard with regular Sam being back. Second vindication for Dean, him being right that they had to keep Sam from remembering his Soulless year.

I love watching actors like Jared play 2 different characters that are supposed to be similar, but so distinct in their differences. He plays regular and soulless Sam well.

I actually really liked this episode. Seeing more of Souless Sam was good, seeing Dean working even tho he was worried about Sam was good, the reuse of the rooms (I am always on those motel rooms) was good, I also kind of liked the monster of the week. I did not see the ending coming... I am a tad worried.

Sad thing is that the first time round Sam actually could have saved everyone the spider captured but because he was soulless he didn't see that option that Sam with his soul would have 100% chosen.

Yeah, this episode is another one of those episodes that I skip when I rewatch the series. Unfortunately there will still be episodes like this where the only interesting parts of the episode are at the very beginning and the very end. Good news is there aren’t too many of these types of episodes that would make you want to stop watching altogether.
