This video is definitely a really good example of how having amazing art supplies might not instantly make you a better artist, but they definitely will have an impact on your final results regardless of skill level. (Also I'm absolutely blown away by that spider you made with the good supplies.)

Yes! The amazing art supplies tend to be pretty similar, usually their differences come down to personal preferences, but when it comes to bad supplies, there's a massive difference and struggling with them is very off-putting. Many artists don't need to worry about having the very best supplies and constantly buying something better; just make sure they're good with excellent ratings and always double-check the reviews to see what people are actually saying. This applies to kids too; they aren't concerned about advanced techniques but they deserve good kid/student grade supplies with actual pigment. It's the night and day difference between those spiders and kids can tell it's not contrasting as much when they're trying to color something black even if they might not make it look as realistic.

The wiry brush would be good for dry brushing to add streaks/texture with thicker paints (streaks on ocean water, grass, bushes etc). Even a 💩 brush can still be “useable” somewhere. 😀

Glad I only use Crayola and Cra-Z-Art stuff. Coloring pencils and markers from both sets, but crayons from Crayola. At least with Crayola, they have ways to reuse and recycle their rejected crayons and plastic marker tubes, use reforested wood for coloring pencils AND have solar panels for energy! And as someone who does volunteer work at the aquarium, the "Reuse, reduce and recycle" phrase is being used fully at Crayola!

I love prismacolor I have a few sets of their colored pencils and my mom has a special place in her heart for them because when she was a teen and living in Mexico she had to work to buy her own things and she bought prismacolor pencils and all of her projects would turn out amazing and she says that those pencils brought color to her life.

Now what I'm curious about is how these cheap products even exist to begin with. Who are the companies behind them? I’m glad you said that about those pencils because I was looking at them like in that picture because I look up all the products at first and then wait to hear the reviews and I was like those are pretty. I might think about ordering some. I have plenty of pencils, but I always have some. I can bring to my work and I have to worry about if they get broken or something. the lady bug with the good art supplies is soo good. it looks realistic that is like chefs kiss good. but the other one is good too, in the sense that i think its cute. that paint brush swatch with the good brush though. just so good, and the other was terrible. im glad my brushes are at least decent. rae art is amazing can make something still good even with terrible supplies. and the background on the good ladybug, looks amazing, the lines got in close. i appreciate it since ive never been able to do that. and the last art work amazing.

Hullo Rae, Sometimes you do get what you pay for! You do not need the highest prices art supply to make good Art, However if you want your art to last you do need good supplies and I have said this for years it starts with your surface canvas or Paper get the best you can afford. I even practice on good or better paper, I have made lovely artworks on so, so, papers and it looks good for about a month, yep it can fade that fast! Work on the best you can afford. you might even buy better paper, just to have better results! Wonderful video and Please, keep them coming!
