Very good video. My wife loves the AR emoji but then again, she doesn't have a beard!! Lol.... Tip: To get good syncing on the facial movement, wait about a second or two before starting to talk and the syncing should be a lot better.. Maybe Samsung can fix this delay in an update. :)

I think you're not aware of Google "Project Treble" yet Saf. Project Treble is used in Android Oreo. It theoretically makes updating phones much faster and cheaper cos it separated OS framework from OEM edits/features, say for example Samsung's edge features. Previously companies had to put in a lot of work into releasing new updates cos they had to add in their own UI features every single time. Project Treble doesn't mess with OEM features at all, only changing the core OS framework. According to Google at least. So we can expect Android P on the S9 soon after it's release.

6 months later and they are not even in Beta. I guess Project Treble will apply for Samsung S10 or S11. I got the S9+ 1 month ago and I will wait for a good 6 more months for the Android Pie.

I love reviews like this that are actually reviewed more than a few weeks to a few months other than just a first impression combined with a review and formulating a long-term opinion of it with that. You're one of the very very few people of Tech KZbinrs that I have watched who actually tested out Bixby and gave an honest opinion about it after using it for a somewhat extended period of time rather than those so-called reviews who would just shut down Bixby completely with their first impressions without giving it a try for awhile. Kudos to you, Saf!

Totally agree with you, the phone is superb. Ordered my S9+ on announcement day, got it on 8 of march, don't regret a thing. Two months down, still happy as a child 😁 The best part for me is split screen and the sound from speakers, it just is perfect.

There's one very teeny detail about the S9's camera that I just noticed too. That little ring around the actual opening of the glass above the lens isn't just some weird plastic border under the glass: it's actually ridged into the camera glass itself. Kinda dumb but I'm a sucker for tiny details like this.

Perfect review SuperSaf! The biggest issue with this phone (and all Samsung phones) is the big delay of receiving Android updates. You buy a flagship from Samsung and after a while you have to really wait for a long time to use the latest version of the OS.. Otherwise, it is one of the best smartphones out there, because of all the features you mentioned in your review.

I have had the 9 plus since it came out. At first it was great. Now I have problems with phone calls and slow downs. It will lock up for no reason. Videos will play but my phone is locked. I can't do anything. I'm really disappointed. I went from a s7 edge to the plus. I wish I still had my edge. Great video. I like Bixby and look forward to updates.

My problem with S9 is that it is not for everyone and certainly does not lure me as iPhone fan towards it as much as I hoped. Curved screen is still useless, it's a gimmick that Samsung makes money on (edge variants of S6 and S7 were more expensive than flat) OS is still garbage for me, sorry fans but no, I don't like app-clones, preinstalled apps you "can disable", and useless features you have to manually turn off, who knows if they take RAM or not. UI is laggy after few months of usage, of any Samsung...not just this. We have seen this argument many many times and it's true, phone becomes laggy hell after a year, I owned and used for more than a year S5,S6,S7 and S8. All became obsolete with updates. And people blame Apple for making you buy newer phones? Samsung has been doing this for years. Battery is not impressive, at least fast charging is fast. Anyways, it's a great phone but for me. i understand fans like it, just like how I like iPhone X, but I am not afraid to criticise it too.

imicca firstly all phones come with pre installed app, even iphone like garage band and movie maker for instance most of which can be disabled as they can on iphone, most phones also suffer from lag at some point, that's the main reason I got rid of the s8 the lag was terrible but I have had an iphone 4s,5,5s,6,6s,6splus and iphone 7 all of which had lag, so far the s9 plus hasn't had any even with the intensive apps I am running, battery life could be better but they at least give you a fast charger which apple has seen fit to charge you extra for, you're a self confessed apple fan so your opinion is moot as you haven't tried it, at least try to gather a little more insight before commenting, I appreciate that android isn't for you but having had a number of phones on different operating systems I can say that iPhones aren't without their flaws either

It's one of those features that gets old really fast, Samsung absolutely no need to try and compete with Apple's Animoji, they both gets bored pretty fast and Samsung really messed up the art style of the ARemoji's making it look really creepy, maybe they did it on purpose to make it seem funny. But i'm not expecting the feature to come to older devices, we might see a version of it on the Note 9, but i hope the improves it a little. S9 plus is a fantastic phone! My first Samsung comming from a sony xperia z5. I am a medium phone user. 6 hours and 15 min sot in 2 full days on 1 time charge. Camera is awesome!

Great video as usual! Bixby is really awesome and handy, especially with its quick commands. I simply say *I'm* *on* *a* *journey* to do ALL of the following on my Note 8: - Turn off Wi-Fi - Turn off NFC - Turn on Bluetooth - Set Location Mode to High Accuracy - Turn on voice wake up and set wake up sensitivity to medium - Set media volume to 90% - Close all recent apps (to avoid any unnecessary background battery drain) - Open Samsung Music and Play my "On the go Music Collection" playlist (now streaming over Bluetooth to my vehicle's speakers, or AUX to my work truck speakers) - Open AutoGuard (turns my Note 8 into a DashCam and starts recording video in the background) - Open Car Dashdroid (simply the best Car Mode app, automatically sets itself as the default launcher) - Open Google Maps Enter my destination in Google maps and place my Note 8 in my iOttie QI windshield mount, where it's fast charging wirelessly. On arrival, I simply say Hi Bixby *I* *have* *arrived* to do ALL of the following: - Pause Samsung Music - Turn on Wi-Fi - Turn on NFC - Turn off voice wake up (I really don't like anything listening 24/7 to me) - Set locating method to battery saving - Close AutoGuard (which stops the background recording) - Go to the Home Screen (shows the Car DashDroid home screen) - Go back (closes Car DashDroid and sets Nova Launcher back to my Default launcher) So many time-saving uses of it.
