Biggest challenge right now is the outlay for yet another pair of crimpers. I have to sell the boss on dropping the cash for that, but I think I can make a case for it over the soldered non-sealing connectors we're using right now! Superseals are remarkably affordable in the waterproof/IPX7 connector space. Mostly we've used Bulgins, but they're no good for discrete wires.
@12VoltPlanetTV

The crimping tool is definitely the best tools for the job as it saves you damaging the seal and the terminal and it makes the job go quicker. These should make a very neat connection for your discrete wires and should look a lot better for you.

Use grease when installing the wires with seal to the connector, they slide effortless into place and give extra protection against water or rusting.

Can the pins be removed from the plastic holder if you accidently put the wrong wire into a hole and it needs to be removed? I have done this a few times and had to destroy the black holder and start again with the pins that were not damaged and replace the pins that were damaged along with a new holder.

Thx for the quick answer! Its a 4 Connection Superseal, all 4 did their 'Click' and are in the right direction, I can move them all 1mm to the front out and again 3mm back to the lock. The clasps are goin in position if I get it a little force, but in the mid there is a little gap between Security Part and the jack housing. The 2 inner Pins from the 4 Pins of the Security Part seem to have an obstacle! @techstuff786
@techstuff786 Жыл бұрын
Sorted it, needed to use the flat screwdriver as you did in the video and give the back of the wires a tug to get them to lock in place. Kind of defeats the point of the seal though as the screwdriver digs into the seals and if not gentle (nearly impossible) enough can tear the "waterproof" seal but I guess it works so it's good enough.
