The first engine diagram with 156ps and 203nm was the 87/88 2.016v without catalytic converter. In '88 a gkat was attached which brought the power to 150ps w/ 196nm torque. Coupled with the F20 5sg it achieved a 0-100kmh rate of 7.7s and a factory speed of 215kmh. Later in 89-91 the Kadett was modified with a light face lift (and more weight). The performance then was 0-100kmh 8.0s with a book speed of 217kmh. I drove an '89 one of these back in the 90's, and it was an awesome autobahn cruiser. Top speed I achieved was 235kmh due to it's excellent aerodynamics. The last Kadett E GSi16v's were truly legendary, and no Golf or other hot hatch's could touch it in flat out performance during it's production years.

Opel gsi/gte 16v is in the hall of car legends. What a car feel lucky i experienced it all.

I had a 1989 Kadett GSi16v (150hp), loved that little pocket rocket. The next gen Astra GSi16v was more modern but did not keep the raw performance/fun of the Kadett E GSi

Had a c20xe when i was 20, nice motor, then got VR6 2.8 was also good motor, but then i bought K20a and then f20c, these motors are far more advanced than the VR6 and the c20xe, no comparison
