Love seeing a trainer who is in clearly phenomenal shape state that even a person on the couch that other people might critique as lazy or non-motivated may just be in too much pain for one reason or another to start exercising regularly at least without assistance or instruction. Makes a lot of the more popular personal trainers you see on TV look very much like jerks

seeing Tom do the bench with no weights helps me with my mental blocks when i do bench without weight. Got a picky shoulder, and havent done bench in years, so the ego & envy can sneak in and stop me. Tommy Buns Crossover?! So happy to see him training after that fall he took last year. Man that really was a tough injury - glad that he's recovered so well from it. I catch that scar on his arm from the surgery every so often and it reminds me the seriousness of it, even though it kinda was kind of a funny meme for a minute because they created a video around it. In any case, dude's business has only like doubled in size since that happened, all the best to him and his family

Hey Mark, I’ve been in a lot of pain for a while. Walking is what I’m able to get myself to go do. Also feels good to get the sun. I also have a couple movements for my legs and back to kinda loosen me up and lessen the pain a little and that does motivate me to walk more. Great advice you’ve given.

Awesome video - I started benching when I was in my mid 20's and i'm 34 now. I JUST now finally realized how benching is supposed to feel and really dialing in the proper form (thanks to videos like this and Jeff Cavaliere). It can take a long time to get that proper mind muscle connection especially if you are just figuring things out on your own. I went from never being able to break above 205 comfortably to repping 245 just over the last year or so. Touch my barbell through the fence

Thanks to following my favorite comedian on KZbin I have now discovered this channel. Mark, you have a very easy to understand and to the point explanation of so many different issues I have been facing for the last couple years. You hit the nail on the head with the pain being a motive to not workout. My tendon on my right should where the collar bone ends keeps getting inflamed after my first injury. I know now, because of you, what I did wrong. I came down too far with 85 lb dumbbells on bench. I pushed myself and obsessed over my rest and nutrition for just over a year first time lifting in my life at 30, and I went from a 135 bench at 5 reps to maxing at 225 in that time! I feel like I have the right body and mindset to get much stronger and bigger before I hit 40 I just need to get that slingshot and continue watching your videos. Thank you!
