The studio version is a masterpiece and very underrated in my opinion The lead vocalist which is on the electric piano plays also guitar in other tracks (it’s Roger Hodgson), the piano player (and lead singer on many tracks) is Rick Davies and can play harmonica, the saxophone player can play keyboards and he’s John Helliwell, the bassist is Dougie Thompson and the drummer is Bob Siebenberg Amazing band

In addition, John also plays the clarinet on many songs including "School" and "Breakfast In America". As for Roger who is singing on this song, he is playing a Wurlitzer electric piano which he also plays on "Breakfast In America" and "Dreamer". He also plays a 12 string guitar on "Give A Little Bit" and lead guitar on "Rudy", "School", "Crime Of The Century" and "Bloody Well Right" in reference to the songs you have reacted to so far.

Many people say that Zeppelin is the best band ever. They’re my personal favorite, along with Pink Floyd. BUT, when you get into true progressive rock, most of the members were classically trained and the skills of these guys is stellar. I’ve never seen them play live before and this was an eye-opener for me. All I can say is WOW.

Always impressed by Roger's ability to play those sixteenth-note chords on electric piano so fast for so long. I've been playing keyboards for more than 50 years and that sh*t is HARD. Even noticeably accelerates just around the start of the lyrics. Rick's piano solo is just fantastic. Btw, don't sweat 'unique' - it does literally mean 'there is no other'

Honestly guys, this band is amazing. I had the privilege of seeing them twice and they can’t be beat. That live version you just listened to was very poorly recorded. When I saw them, both times, in two different places, the sound was fantastic. It was like sitting down in front of a 5000 watt analog stereo system and you could near every note. The first time I saw them for Crime of the Century……the soundboard was mixed by the guy who mixed the studio album. PLUS…..the light show was amazing. It was breathtaking. At the end of the night you realized you had just seen something extremely special.

Imagine trying to get a band like this together to jam in the early days. Four keyboardists loading up all those the keys and amps onto the city bus, all on their way to their drummer's parent's basement. I thought loading a guitar and amp into the back of a car was a hassle. Edit: Lol plus all their guitars, saxophones, tubas, and harps. That's commitment.

In the studio version of this song Rick Davies mastery in his grand piano piece is literally unparalleled to the point that even Rick himself has never repeated it. I love watching your reactions guys. This is one of my favorites. I got to see Supertramp in Seattle 1979. It was the best thing I've ever seen or heard. There's nothing like having two piano/keyboard parts being played together. Roger plays that keyboard superbly and Rick is a piano God. And yes Roger plays piano/keyboards & guitar and John plays multiple, wind (Clarinet, Tenor & Alto sax etc.) instruments and keyboard. They are amazing.

Hey fellas, so the album that followed the album "Breakfast In America" in Supertramp's discography is the album "Famous Last Words" which was released in 1982. This album also achieved significate success, reaching number 1 in several countries. This album also received multiple certifications including a Gold and Platinum. Here's a live performance of their first song off the album called "Crazy." This is their farewell concert in Munich, Germany, the whole concert was amazing. *"Supertramp - Crazy (Live in Munich 0 1983)"* Thanks 4 sharing, fellas.

Thank you for this one guys. Supertramp is an elite band on stage. I've seen them three times on stage and have multiple concert DVDs including this one, Live in Paris. Roger Hodgson is lead vocalist on this song. Roger and Rick take turns with lead vocals. There is another live performance of the song, Another Man's Woman, on Live in Paris. There is an awesome piano solo in this one by Rick. The build up makes it so. Rick Davies is lead vocalist too. That's the guy that started out on an organ, switched to tambourine and finished with piano. Roger plays guitar on this one. John Helliwell is the MC and is the guy that runs around playing different instruments. He plays the wind instruments. Dougie Thompson plays bass although I've seen him play organ like the beginning of School. Bob Siebenburg plays drums. He often holds his drumsticks by the ends that are supposed to hit the drums. There is one song on Crime of the century that I hope you guys will give a chance. Rick is full of emotion and desperation on the song, Asylum.
