Hwy 50 across Illinois !! As a child in the early 70s, me and dad did that route often before I 64 was fully completed. Hwy 50 was only 2 lanes back then with gas stations few and far between. Ty for the memories!

As a jet engine mechanic dealt with JP-4, JP-5 and JP-8. Smelly stuff. We could use JP-4 in our diesel powered flightline vehicles. When living in England I received a survey from my local town council. Part if the survey was they wanted to know if anyone required to bathe more than three times a week. What? Well, since both my ex and I were jet engine mechanics we went way over that amount. Lol.

I love the back roads, I always drew a line from one point to the other and trued to stick to the line. As much as possible- and my wife would Warsh my clothes with Grease Lightening - she bought it in a one gallon jug. It will take out 5th wheel grease. She Swore by it. Diesel smells too. Just let the Boss Lady know. And hug Bailey for me, I had to put my little girl down, Friday. And I miss her dearly- Safe Travels and Merry Christmas 🎄-

I used to wrench on a fleet of tank trucks for Texaco. One night a driver was fueling a #2 oil truck with a gas engine and the nozzle popped out. Gas hit the exhaust and up she went. 4400 gallons on that truck and a yard full of loaded gasoline and oil trucks. Several of us mechanics dragged 500 lb. dry chem carts out and put out the fire. Luckily the driver wasn't hurt. We got letters thanking us for our actions and a few weeks later 10 of us got letters telling us we were laid off.

wash your clothes with dawn dishsoap. Quite a bit, sometimes more than once, and extra rinses to get out all the soap. Works really good for oily rags and coveralls.

Never miss a video Big Dan but a small thing if you can, is when you are filming going down the road, when you edit, can you show the milage between city signs as you go by rather than cut them out. I think it gives people a better sense of where you are at the time especially if they have some connection to the locations. If not for security reasons I understand.

Recon Dawn Dish soap would help get rid of the smell. Maybe soak your clothes in a container of water and Dawn (don’t put it in the washer!). Rinse ‘em off real well and wash as normal. By the way, I loved that first song you had in this one! Stay safe and thank you for your service!

I used to remove diesel smelling clothes and put them in a plastic bag then add vinegar to kill the diesel smell, seal the bag as best you can then launder asap. If you get grease on a nice jacket? Rub neat shampoo onto the grease and paper towel off, apply more shampoo and seal in a plastic bag, launder asap - don’t leave it and let it dry out. Washers don’t care about a small amount of either vinegar or shampoo - best not to tip a bottle of either in the plastic bag though😂😂😂

I deliver fuel locally and I’m just at a loss for words at all of the trucks that drivers leave in the fuel islands and either go inside to shower or use the restroom. I watch some completely walk off the property to fast food down the road or across the street. No care at all for the fellow drivers sharing the road. Sad

we use to take US 30 east from Chicago to I-71 S. when the company wasnt in the mood to pay tolls, then they got the by-pass card and no problems with tolls. not many truck stops on US 30 and btw dont take US30 from Jolette, Ill. lot of stop and gos and uphill climbs. take I65 S to to Us30. less stop and goes
