For those that don't know, the Eternals and the Deviants are 2 branches of humanity that came about because of experiments on humans by the Celestials millenia ago. Thanos is an Eternal, but a mutant Eternal, in that he was born as a throwback to the Deviant branch. So he's an Eternal, and a Deviant, and a mutant. Much of his power comes from each of those 3 factors, but he also has mystical and scientific/technology knowledge that he has gained over the centuries. So even without a Cosmic Cube or Infinity Gauntlet, he's insanely powerful. His main advantage is his genius intelligence and mastery of tactics/planning/contingencies.

Tyler Kelly I agree Sentry is very powerful but no one seems to realize that. I should have specified with the infinity gauntlet but yes you are correct. When Thanos has his gauntlet though he's almost unstoppable. I love how Drax is a green badass in the comics, flying around shooting energy bolts from his hands, and has so much hate for Thanos that he can telepathically locate Thanos anywhere in the universe. Then you watch the movies and Drax is a blue, powerless, gimp that can’t do anything of note. A comic book I read was that he was learning from a galactic school and he was very different. He got trapped in a cave with former students, days went on but he survived because he ate the his classmates. The skrulls you know of are actually the Deviant variety of their race. That's why Thanos and Skrulls have similar faces. The Celestials performed the same genetic experiment on the Skrulls that they did on the Humans, creating Eternal and Deviant branches of each race. On Earth the Eternals became more dominant and the Deviants were kind of scrum of the earth. but on Skull homeworld, the deviants got the upperhand and killed everyone else. So all Skrulls are shapeshifters & Deviants, just like the Earth deviants have many shapes. They can't shapeshift at will, but each earth deviant is born as a new form, unlike either parent.

Equinox K From what I remember, the Inhumans were a result of the Kree trying to replicate the genetical experiments done by the Celestials that gave birth to the Deviants and the Eternals. So, in a certain way, the Inhumans are proto-mutants.

They also don't mention his "fatal flaw" in that he has actually achieved his goal of total godhood several times only to still get beaten due to a deep-seated subconscious feeling of inferiority and unworthiness to such a status. I'm not sure what mechanical implants you're referring to, but there is a panel of comics where Eros explains to Silver Surfer that Thanos would need no such implants as his physical might was at LEAST on par with the Hulk's. SS fought a replica.

I never could decide if I liked Thanos or Darkseid. Darkseid always came across as a bit more menacing , actually seemed to think his cruelty was for the universes best interest (kinda like Doctor Doom) and Thanos has been known to be a creator's pet for Jim Starlin. On the other hand, I find Thanos' design more interesting to look at (though I will admit that I can see why people think he looks silly) and he has one of the most interesting motives for being a omnicidal kill everything in existence Villain: He is not just a nihilist (like Darksied, who thinks he is giving the universe a purpose), he fell in love with the embodiment of Death and all he is doing is trying to propose to her and rule existence as husband in wife. For me this a though call. As for the whole, "Who would win in a Fight" debate, I think with their artifacts, Thanos would win. But in terms of their own personal strength, I would say it would come down to however can land the "last blow" first.

Mohammed Salem Yeah, you're another that hasn't read the comics. Destroy everything? That's a Thanos thing, Darkseid isn't a destroyer, but a conqueror. And look at their faces, Thanos has a huge chin, Darkseid has a huge front, VERY different. And that's just the surface, I didn't even touch the important parts, like Darkseid not being the real Darkseid but an avatar of the real Darkseid who is like the Satan of DC.
