When I was vegan (for 7 years), I took a lot of supplements. When I transitioned to meat-based, BBBE, I no longer needed the supplements. They made me jittery. I do take potassium & magnesium to alleviate nighttime leg cramps and melatonin to help me sleep through the night.

I took Omega-3 oil capsule 1 per day. It is to lower my blood pressure because I didn't want to take telvisartan that the doctor prescribed me. But the oil capsuoes were causing gout in both my feet. I didn't know and were bed tidden for nearly 5 months. I realized it a month ago and is slowly recovering now. The Omega-3 capsules were not just oil from fish meat but includes oil from all fish innards and fish heads. Which was why it is so easy to cause gout. Sharing my bad experience so that others do not fall into the same trap as I. P.S I was hospitalized during the 5 months, and even specialists going around the ward do not suspect anything when they saw my omega3 supplement. I realized it and stopped for 4 days, immediately i could start walking. But the damaged are already done to my feet, i am trying my best to heal now.

Excellent video content as usual. I take a boatload of supplements but I believe that I am clear eyed about it. I don't have high expectations about what positive effects they may be having on me. I think more in terms of what negatives they may be holding off rather enhancing something. I've only been sick once (a cold of some sort) in the past 15 yrs. I don't know if it's because I'm lucky or I've been getting some benefits from the supplement stack, etc. Although I try to be consistent, I am not adverse to changing things up. For instance, I took a resveratrol supplement for about 12 yrs before giving up on it a couple of years ago. I just don't want to be in that circumstance where I'm confronted with "You should have been doing this or that" all of these years. For instance, that's why I try to maintain my muscle strength/mass as I age.. My core stack contains collagen and creatine with my coffee in the morning. Fish oil, D3+K2, magnesium glycinate at night/taurate in the morning. And then about 15 other things that I will probably cull a little in the new year.

I agree. I take supplements because I'm a Flexatarian. Sometimes I eat chicken. Chicken is the only protein outside of eggs, Avocado's, and fish I get most of my protein.. So I take an organic pea/quinoa protein on the days I workout(3-4 days per week.). Also I take B- Vitamins, Omega 3 and Vitamin D supplements. In addition I take Zinc supplement to help with recovery and assist in blood flow. I basically eat two full meals a day and maybe a protein shake or fruit for a snack if I feel hungry outside of my two meals. All the above was started to fight pre-diabetic and to get off of blood pressure meds. Three months later bloodwork does not reflect pre-diabetic and I no longer need medication so far. Thank GOD. It can be mental but I think the supplements help and I feel more energized when taking them. I'm only 170pds and I was 194 before going Flexatarian. I follow Adam J Story on KZbin who provides great advice. I share my experience to help others

But, if I didn't take a fist full of supplements twice a day, I would have to go off the Skittles diet!

As a 70 year old woman, 2 hormone values at the end of the measuring scale and 2 values at the beginning of the scale. What do you recommend? Thyroid values are within range.

I find the topic of supplements confusing .. I took so many over the yrs, and yet I'm not in good shape now !

I also have done lots of juicing, not sure if it's worth it.

Is cod liver oil the same as fish oil ? 🐟 🎣
@AdamJStoryDCАй бұрын
Yes, it is. Cod is a fish. It's "different" but the "same."

Sad thing is you are not getting milligrams from a lot of supplements. I've done the math and I'm not getting hardly anything from my K2,D3,and COQ10. Just learned this yesterday and I am very disappointed 😞

I am currently taking Magnesium Potassium K2 D3 Fish oil Vit C ( because I don’t eat fruit) Co Q 10 which you didn’t mention so I wonder if this is a waste? B Complex (is this a waste?) I eat meat, fish and low glycemic vegetables, but nothing made from flour
